Unable to play until Survival Overhaul...

Dear Bethesda,

I'm an Xbox player who's been with you since Morrowind. I delayed my purchase of an Xbox One until Fallout 4 came out. I was a little disappointed that you didn't initially pick up some of Obsidian's ideas from New Vegas, but I ordered the FO4/XB1 bundle anyway.

I've put about 50 hours into FO4 and I'm at level 25. I haven't completed the main quest, but I'm at a point where it's not breathing down my neck.

Then, you go and announce the new Survival Mode. This is everything I've wanted since the game launched. I have not one single complaint about the proposed changes. At the moment, I am in more anticipation of this than I am of any patches that improve settlement construction or even DLC, which I've also already paid for.

Please give us an update on when we can realistically expect the Survival Overhaul. I've found it hard to bond with the game since release and I find the same impossible now that I know these changes are on their way. I just want to know if I should put it away for a week or a month or longer. I'm tired of booting up, being disappointed and searching the internet for answers in the limited playtime I have at the end of the day. Thank you.

It's going to be a while still. The 1.4 patch just got released on PC and is going live on consoles supposedly by the end of the week. The first DLC is probably going to come before the new survival mode. My guess is that the DLC will go into beta next week and then get released shortly after. The new survival mode will most likely be included in the 1.5 patch which will come after the first DLC. You can probably count on waiting at least 3-4 more weeks for it. I may be off on that, but that's my guess. It's not likely that we'll hear any further word about a release date from Bethesda until the day it goes into beta. They, rightfully so, don't want to announce release dates and then miss them because of delays. I'm sure they'd rather avoid the onslaught of complaints that would come as a result of that.

I'm in a sort of similar situation. I've done two full play throughs and spent over 600 hours on the game already, so in that respect my situation is a lot different, but I'm currently getting bored with me level 120+ character with basically nothing left to do. I'm itching to start a new character, but I don't want to start it until the new survival mode is released.

I'm kind of in a similar spot too. I've finished the MQ, but I don't really want to play the DLC just to restart once Survival comes out, as that's what I'd planned to do since it was announced as a thing that's happening.

Not their fault, obviously, and I'm overjoyed at the changes. Just.. nnngh..

I think of Fallout 4 as a survival theme park with RPG elements, so this upcoming update has me psyched, will be starting a new game for sure.

I'm practicing for the new survival mode. running around without fast travelling, sleeping a lot, carrying low amounts of ammo, that kind of thing.

I am going to miss my Flamethrower the most though, but that thing is way too heavy. :( Bye bye Flamethrower. :flamethrower:

I am in the same boat as well. I am itching to start a male character that will be survival mode from start to finish. It is hard to know what to do now, play or not play.

To fix the problem I have jumped back onto Far Cry 3 while I wait. Raiding those outposts and exploring the islands is damn fun!
