With loot lists regularly over 8 items or thereabouts, standing still mashing "take" often causes you to be in the open taking damage far longer than you'd like, which is where the Transfer Menu looting comes in handy as it (in theory) should stop time allowing you to grab all the items, resume time, and continue the battle. As this is how it works outside of battles, it's very jarring how the rules change in battle and I cannot tell if it's a glitch or by design.
Try to bring the Transfer Menu up in battle and the first few presses merely 'blink' the item list display (including the prompt to press Square to Transfer... so we are told that's a valid action at the time) off for a frame or two. Remaining in position mashing Square tends to take me about five or six presses, over a second or two, to bring up the menu during which time I'm in the open getting shot and blown up.
Sure, waiting until it's safer is always an option. But is this a bug or a feature? It may be lag brought on by activity in the vicinity, but it could just as likely be done to prevent the type of use I'm going for here - as a means to loot corpses in the thick of battle at near zero risk. Perhaps a delay was inserted to reduce the benefits of using transfer over live looting in battle?
Is anyone else noticing this, and do you think it's a glitch or deliberate?
