Using Blender to create models for Morrowind

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2016 2:50 pm

I want to get into creating models for Morrowind, but I'm relatively confused on how to actually go about putting models in the engine. Is there a good up to date guide on doing that?

Hi and welcome!

You will need Blender 2.49b and NifScripts. Unfortunatelly there are no working NifScripts for later versions. General workflow for most people seem to be to model stuff in latest Blender, then save with legacy format (make sure your models is made entirely out of triangles), open it in Blender 2.49b and export using NifScripts to nif format. You can also import models from Morrowind to latest Blender and edit it using the same approach. I also believe there are NifScripts for Max, but I do not know about it much. I prefer Cinema and there are no import scripts for it unfortunatelly. If you google NifScripts you should be able to find all necessarry info and download links.
