How would you describe all of our history in just a single word?
Defend your answer.
Blight.
All that mankind has achieved has been to the detriment of the Earth's natural resources and less evolved forms of life.
Progress.
This doesn't need much defending; look at the modern standard of living to that of cavemen a hundred thousand years ago. Wars, while more destructive now, are less common than they once were in prior centuries. We've long since had a cure or effective treatments for most acute/pandemic diseases and are now focused on chronic ones. Are there missteps? Absolutely. But if progress was a net loss, we'd still be living in tribes with the occasional outgrowth towards a city-state before collapsing again.
Dictatorship (control)
Self-driving cars opens up for control of your very movement and internet in TVs, refridgerators etc opens up for surveillence of your everyday life. Obviously I don′t have to mention what happened during WW2 and even before that.
Progress
No need to defend my answer, just look at Marss reasoning.
Surprising. That after millions years we're still around and kicking, it wasn't that granted. We managed lots of good things and lots of bad things; I just hope the good things we did overweight the bad things. I also think we're improving the right way, even if doesn't show at first sight. The few that screw us won't last.
