[Devs Preferred] Survival mode Question

Post » Thu Mar 17, 2016 8:07 am

DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU'VE HAVEN'T FINISHED THE GAME

You've been warned.

Seriously, turn back now if you've haven't beaten the game.

Question: Since Survival Mode disables Fast Travel, would The Institute's relay teleport system still work as intended?

I've been wondering that as well.

Spoiler
I'm sort of hoping they'll make it so that the relay you build is the only way in and out other than popping into the commonwealth at CIT the way they say coursers do. Would be nice if all the effort didn't go into something that breaks after its first/only use.

Not a dev, but I have finished the game. This is a really good question.

Instead of putting in a mobile version jump-scare in your post, you really should have put this in the spoilers forum.

Am I the only one who read the rules fully?

we don't know

it's all gonna depend on how beth wants to play it. I can't imagine them ditching that since it is an explanable method of fast travel. you just wouldn't be able to go from sanctuary to diamond city. you'd have to go sanctuary, institute, diamond city which kind of svcks and defeats the purpose

I would assume it would be the one exception, as simple as that.

Well, the devs don't exactly pop in and answer questions like this here.

I don't see why it wouldn't. It's something that has an explanation within the game. Fast travel doesn't have a lore explanation. It's just a game mechanic that allows us to imagine ourselves turning a long walk into a loading screen. The Institute's molecular relay is a device that's part of the story line. Using it isn't the same as using fast travel. The BOS have the Vertibirds that you can call for transport too. Even if you take out the Institute and the BOS, either the Minutemen or the Railroad will end up with a Vertibird transport that you can still use. So we'll all have some kind of faster method of traveling available once we reach a certain point in the game. I imagine we'll still be able to teleport in and out of the Institute just like we already can.

I think it will work. Logically it should.

It is not fast travel, it is -teleportation-.

Nowhere I have seen that super-survival cancels teleportation.

What about them? They should remain unaffected. As should travel to the institute, as you are actually equipped with an in game device to facilitate it.
