Enchanted Weapons?

Post » Mon Jul 05, 2010 1:28 pm

I'm starting out with Oblivion and I don't know how you recharge my enchanted weapon after the charge has depleted. I know it's a total noob question but I'm not able to use my enchanted weapon. Help, anynone?

There are three ways to recharge your enchanted weapons:

1) Go to a local mages guild and ask around until you find the enchanter character. He can recharge your items...for a price.

2) Get a varla stone, activate it in the inventory, and then select which item you wish to refill.

3) Get any soul gem with a soul in it and click on it like the varla stone and choose the item you wish to refill.

Hope this helps.

Oh, and for more info on enchanting, go http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Enchanting ;)

Varla stones are found in Ayleid ruins. They recharge everything in your inventory, not just one item (assuming you have more than one enchanted weapon).

Soul gems can be found in Mages Guilds (either lying around or purchasable), as clutter or you can buy them from some vendors.
Empty soul gems are filled by 'Soul Trap' either as a spell or via an enchanted weapon.

edit. I should add varla stones are quite rare and you should really hang on to them until you have a few weapons to recharge in one go.

If you have the Wizard's Tower plug-in, it adds an NPC named Aurelinwae, who is both a merchant (with 2000 gold) and an item recharger. She'll be in the Mystic Emporium store in the Market District of the Imperial City.
