Hey all. Just kind of wondering if anybody knows when that's supposed to come. For some reason, I had it in my head that 1.4 came with the survival overhaul, but, obviously, I was wrong.

At any rate, I'm not seeing much reason to play until it comes out. Call me cynical, but the only reason I have a character at lvl 60 (I stopped months ago when they announced the overhaul) is because I didn't initially know the overhaul was going to be a thing. I plan on starting up a whole new game once the overhaul drops...but I digress.

Point: I want to know if anybody knows when it's supposed to come out. I saw one article that said (and I'm paraphrasing) "We'll have more details in the coming months." And, if I have to wait months for the overhaul I'm gonna lose my [censored].

I hope never if they are srsly planning on introducing Nap to Save.

Same here man, I am abstaining from Fallout until survival overhaul and will be starting a new character. Apparently there are many players who are excited about the survival overhaul. Starting to think we may in fact be the majority, and the wusses who can't live without quicksaving are actually just a vocal minority. Lucky for them, survival mode is an *option*.


My optimistic theory is Automatron will drop this Tuesday along with the survival overhaul. Basing this on the idea that the only thing holding it up was the 1.4 update for consoles which released today. It does seem odd how they rushed to get it out this week, instead of just waiting until Tuesday like normal.


Realistically, I think the beta starts next week and then automatron will drop Tuesday the 22. It could include survival overhaul - if the beta has gone well. They might end up releasing it with wasteland workshop in April, or on its own before then.

Currently just testing the waters with my character. The real game doesn't start until needs become a factor.

Here's hoping. I can't wait. My younger sibling has been playing FO4 non-stop and I keep hearing the music. The siren song beckons me back, but I shall deny that foul temptress until I get my higher difficulty, dammit.

I can't wait to play with it but I'm not holding my breath. It will be a couple of months I'd bet. I'm not going to stop playing. If you waited to play games until such and such a patch came out or addon or whatever you'd be waiting forever. Its something I am looking forward to on my next playthrough in a couple of months. In the meantime I'm going to continue to enjoy the game as it is.

Good for you. I can't really do more than one playthrough of games like this. Hm. Oh well XD

I've done two level 100+ characters already, and I'm itching to start a third one. I'm trying to wait until the new Survival mode is released though. I'm hoping it's soon. My guess is that it'll be around the end of the month. I think the first DLC will likely go into beta early next week, and then get released early the following week. Survival mode will probably go into beta right after the DLC is released, and then get fully released a short while later.

I'd love to see survival mode come out before the DLC though. My survival character is the one I plan to do at least most of the DLC with.

I've only put in 236 hours, but I've decided to wait until the CK is out as there are quite a few things I want to change. Before you ask, as good as they are, I don't trust the current 3rd party tools.

I could be wrong, which often happens, but I think I read something about the new survival mode being included with the first DLC, supposedly sometime this month.

That would piss off anyone who may not want to buy the DLC. So I hope Bethesda wouldn't tie the changes to Survival to purchasing a DLC.

Seph64, you're right, that would piss players off, I hadn't thought about that. Then it really has to be a separate update for all players.

I've stopped questing until new survival comes. Now I'm just boosting defences here and there since now settlements will be able to defend themselves apparently.

What way do you have of proving that we are simply a vocal minority? I'm sure that you have no way of doing so, just as we have no way of proving that you are.


Though I suppose continuing this argument would belong in one of the dedicated survival mode threads.
