So, I've played several characters through the main quest and, done plenty of settlement building, and think I've done every side quest. Until the toolkit comes along, there is little else for me to do. But the new DLC (and a certain someone due to play a big part in the new Daredevil season) has inspired me! It's time to dispense justice as... the SILVER SHROUD!
i plan to blitz through the main quest for the Railroad, as I don't want the Minutemen to exist for this playthrough, nor the Institute or the Brotherhood. It's about the only way I would ever see the Railroad with my own eyes, so there is that.
However, what super hero is complete without his team of allies? I have a robot butler, know a nosy reporter (and potential romantic interest), so we are half way there. The back of the Home Plate and a roof exit make a great Crypt for the Shroud.
But... what about the Unstoppables? I'm not sure who to use, and in what context.
Hancock, the Ghoul with an alias and LARP outfit is practically already a pulp antihero. As is Nick, the Synthetic Detective. Strong might even qualify as the 'friendly (in the broadest possible sense) alien, allied to the heroes'.
Sadly, Preston is going to stay at Sanctuary as it's guardian, Danse will hate me by the time I put any real effort in, and X6 will be dead.
But what to do with the others? Cait, Deacon, MacCready, and Curie...
Deacon I don't really see a role for, funny as he is. Then again, his utter failure as a master of disguise might have it's place.
Now, one of them has to become the new Grognak, or at least use the props. This is where Danse dropping me like a radioactive rock gets me, as his build and beard would kinda fit a wasteland warrior. MacCready is too skinny, though I suppose I could buff him up at a gym. Curie is just wrong for it. However... Cait as Red Svenja? Brawling is her thing, after all.
I'm just playing around with fun little ideas to keep myself amused, and I actually find all the superheroes and villains popping up around Fallout to be pretty awesome as a concept. Half tempted to do a Miss Fortune run on New Vegas.
(Edit: Actually thinking deeper, despite the Shroud being more supported due to its quests, Grognak makes more sense as the player. Kinda. With a certain strength and durability enhancing serum, you have both the required psychosis to wander around in a loincloth while swinging axes and strength and toughness to survive it. But the Shroud is still more fun.)
How many of you have done something like this, or have any ideas?
