Locations to farm large amounts of pre-war $?

Post » Fri Mar 18, 2016 5:56 pm

Inside a floor safe in Diamond City I have stashed away 280 Brotherhood of Steel Holotag's and $826 Pre-War dollars. I have no trouble satisfying my Holotag quota however I'm wondering if there are any places known to have a large amount of pre-war money that respawn(s)? I understand there are various cash registers throughout the game but I'm wondering if there is a bank or something similar?

I know there are tons of unmarked locations in the game has anyone found a location with a lot of pre-war money?

There's a bank in Lexington, and a green long sack thing crammed full of prewar money outside a window near a skeleton also in Lexington. I tend to find quite a bit at the Supa Dupa Mart too, also in Lexington.

Generally you find it everywheres, in cash registers mainly. You'll find more in the big city areas.

There's one place off the top of my head. It's in Lexington. It's a bank I think. There's pre-war money in the cash registers, and there's a few bundles in the vault. The terminal does not need to be hacked to open the vault. There's a hole in the vault and outside on the ground beneath, there's a duffle bag with Pre-War Money in it, in an amount of 100, along with a few bundles next to it. This location respawns.

There's also a bank in University Point that you should check out. Raided it last night and walked away with quite a bit of pre-war cash. Check the other buildings in the same area.

So it appears my destination is set then, I'll simply leave from my base at the Red Rocket at dawn. Thanks so much for the quick responses I'm playing right now lol.

In midtown Boston there is an unmarked location / bank, guarded by a few raiders and a turret. There is only access through a smashed corner. The inside of the building is empty tho, and on second floor there is a big vault (Expert Hacking needed). It has the largest concentration of pre-war money I've encountered so far. I think the default in one green dufflebag is 100 pre-war money (think it is level dependant tho), plus what is scattered about. The bank in Lexington is easier to get to tho.

Edited: some info was incorrect first time around.

There's several banks in the game that can be looted. Not sure if they respawn the loot though. The most notable one for me is the one near back street apparel. Huge bank vault with numerous safes and a small collection of gold bars behind a master terminal. Well huge vault comparatively anyway.

Edit: The bank is named Bridgeway Trust. Unmarked location. 16 safes ranging from novice to master. 3 cash registers. Respawns. Just walked out on my second trip with 343 pre war bills and 4 more gold bars.

Yeah, that's the best one to return to. Don't know how often it respawns, I just go back there every now and then when I think of it.

I agree. It is also worth closing the door with yourself inside the vault as there are some shelves behind the door with more pre-war money on if I remember correctly.

Yes, as others have said :http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Bridgeway_Trust is a great spot. Take Piper, Cait, or Deacon for added bonus affinity; lots of locks to pick.

Incidentally, anyone know how often places like this respawn?

Would have to guess a few days to a week. I'm sure it wasn't long between my first and second trip to Bridgeway.

Feniel Hall (sp?) also has a large amount of cash registers on the first floor and many of the radiant quests send you there

You need to hit up the bank in Lexington or go around it. On the ground, in the back outside, there's a green duffel bag with 100 pre-war bills and several strewn about the ground. Looks like a bank heist was going on at the time the bombs fell. LOL That money also re-spawns on a regular basis. :)

Also, I always find pre-war money in every register on the ground floor of Faneuil Hall (enter through the front, release the protectrons, then loot the area). Fallon Department store is also a good location for pre-war money.

Any place with good amount of cash registers will do. Faneuli Hall, Fallon department, Atomic General Galla...

my first playthrough, I made it a point to hoard pre war money in my safe in sanctuary. I have over 6 or 7K in pre war money stashed away. Cash registers and store counters. Everytime I see a store I check behind the counters and the registers.
