Poodle bonus no longer having an effect

Post » Sat Mar 19, 2016 2:27 am

I've noticed since the update that my poodles are no longer helping vault dwellers with rebuilding happiness. As usual, the poodle raises the happiness when it is attached, but even after several hours, the happiness is only slightly improved (once the poodle is removed). It is like a happiness facade, and the dwellers happiness doesn't seem to improve over time, until I remove the poodle (then it goes up as normal). I have multiple poodles, and it does not seem to make a difference what the percentage bonus is.

I have multiple poodles and cats which increase happiness, i just attach them to my radio room dwellers and let them roam around.

They are actually useless in my vault, like most of the pets I have, but my son likes seeing all the cats and dogs I have spread around my vaults.

Yes, prior to the patch, the happiness pets would cause the happiness boost to "stick" after a short time, allowing you to move the pets around and spread the happy. I myself have not noticed any permanent happiness increases since then, even small ones, but I haven't tested it.

Someone on here said that the previous behavior was a bug and the happiness was only ever supposed to apply while the pet was equipped, but I don't know if that's true.

Anyway, happiness appears to me to be irrelevant to vault operations, beyond the daily report bonus caps.
