The best perk in the game is ....

Post » Sat Mar 19, 2016 8:29 pm

Strong Back level 3 (and 4). Strong Back level 3 allows you to collect as much as you want! and then you just use AP to move. This is the greatest perk in the game for a Scavenger! When I first saw this perk, I thought you had to push the sprint button to move which is a pain on xbox, but no, you can just move and it takes AP from you.. I wish I had gotten this perk long ago (I'm at level 52 now), it basically means you don't have to worry about what you pick up (or what to drop when you find something better). Combined with the level 4 perk (fast traveling while overburdened) you don't even need to take drugs or change clothes to get back to your dumping base! What a great perk!

The best perk was Killshot, Until Bethesda ruined it. The best perk now for me is Robotics Expert 3, Until they nerf that also.

Better Criticals and Critical Banker go hand and hand. Can you get you out of some sticky situations, thats for sure.

I love Aquaboy/girl, just the first level though, never even taken the second. Taking no rads from water in a water filled map is a must for exploration in my book ??

It doesn't proc as much as I'd hoped (4 INT) and the sound effect is horrible.

Lone Wanderer can also negate the worry of weight, while also a good increase in damage and taking less damage.

It's basically everything good about this world given to you in one perk.

Pain train the best perk in my opinion, knocking down those hordes of ferals, super mutants and radscorpions, fun times! But it's bugged atm, that needs fixing right frikin' now! I've been waiting for two whole months for a patch! And night person too and a whole lot of bugged perks! They need immediate attention

So much this. It's now the first perk I take, regardless of my character concept or eventual goal.

Won't say they're the best, but my current favorites are Demolition Expert Rank 2 for the throwing arc and Grim Reaper's Sprint because I only use VATS when I'm outnumbered like 5 to 1 and it adds another layer of fun to those situations.

Aquagirl is great too. Love jumping into the water without having to worry about rads.

Cap Collector.

Seeing my enemies explode in bottle caps is just so satisfying to see. Until you realize that the caps are under the water and then you have to be careful whether to "take caps" or drink water.

There's definitely no objectively best perk since we all have different playing styles. Maxed out Strongback is definitely one of my favorites. The combination of Better Criticals and Critical Banker is pretty awesome as well.

Paintrain would be cool if at max rank you didn't need power armor to use it. It just bugs me that at 10 strength my character can't tackle people down or over. 10 STRENGTH!!!!

Agreed. Pain Train should be available without Power Armor if you are at 10 Strength. It also should be a feature of any Power Armor since not knocking over enemies when a Power Armor is running at them is highly unrealistic.

Life Giver.

It's not a glamorous perk, but it's easily attainable, and requires only a three perk investment to get +60 health and HP regeneration by level 20. Which is awesome.

Agree.. the sound effect is outrageously annoying. I can only assume it's there just to make you think twice before taking it again.

For me the best perk was lone wanderer. Raises carry limit by a whopping 150, bonus defense, bonus damage. If you don't like running around with companions there's no downside.

3 votes for Aquaperson, currently leading! and I found this perk on a 10 worst perks youtube video. I have to disagree with the video maker, I want this perk badly even though I don't really like swimming in this game. Its such a hastle to change into hazmat suit each time you want to go for a swim and then you're unprotected and you still take rads!! Maybe if I had this perk I would like swimming more because I'd be less like, "move it" I'm taking rads..

Nothing negates the worry of weight like Strong Back. I don't even realize when I'm "overencumbered" anymore! This is such a great perk for scavers, I'm kicking myself for not getting it earlier!!

What is the bug? (2 votes for pain train btw)

That sounds cool, although collecting caps would be tedious... do you still get there loot?

I actually like VANS alot, helps lead me to goals or which road to take. Really useful in cities and some dungeons, and I rarely ever have to pull out my map!

Oh yes, the perk doesn't destroy the bodies of your enemies, it just causes (randomly) an explosion of bottlecaps around them.
