I can't be the only one.... can I?

Post » Sun Mar 20, 2016 5:05 am

I watch a lot of 'Let's plays on youtube' and I have to be completely honest here.. I die a little inside when I see people use Nuka anything to regen health. Nuka anything (yes that means trucks) are prized possessions of mine and the thought of drinking one or leaving one behind.... makes me shudder. Hell I even collect the empty bottles!

It's a problem I know... but why oh why can I not help but collect any and all things Nuka? I was like this back in fallout 3... I loathed using Nuka's to make a grenade... so I never did, but I had hundreds.... Is it possible to have video game OCD?

I can't be the only one.... right?

Back in F3 Quantums were limited items and you could only find each one once. That triggered it for me. I didn't learn until New Vegas that actually drinking a Nuka gets you the bottle cap too. Right now I'm sitting on a stash of hundreds and still can't bring myself to drink them even though all varieties can now respawn infinitely.

I never knew you could drink the trucks though, I never tried :)

I use Nuka Cola, but not as a regen item(I got stimpacks for that). The thing is, you shouldn't see it as a problem. It's not like in previous games where if you loot every Nuka Cola in the game and drink it all, then it's gone for good. Here, the loot resets, so you'll always find Nuka Cola.

The Trucks are not drinkable. Their listed as junk items and can only be used in crafting.

Pobatti is trying to be tricky.. see he knew you couldn't drink trucks but I didn't make it clear in my original post that I knew you couldn't drink trucks

I collect them cause they say Nuka Cola on them... I'll drop weapons to make room for them.

As for Nuka Cola respawning... even knowing this I still HAVE to take them when I see them.... I know this is a problem

and G.I. Joe tells me knowing is half the battle

did I just give away my age?

That's not it, try seeing this when you're a tad sleep deprived:

I actually thought I learned something new, like the truck was a whole case of bottles in a cool design or something :)

Well, let me put it this way: Sierra isn't the only one with a Nuka Cola museum. She just charters the Capital Wasteland office. I charter the Commonwealth.

I only drink Nuka Cola if I have to. I refuse to drink any Nuka Cherry's or Quantums.

Nope, not the only one. I collect Nuka everything too. I only drink them early on when I don't have other stuff to heal with, but pretty soon in my adventures I only need cooked meat of various flavors to heal everything but crippled limbs.

I drank a truck once, a Ford SVT Raptor. I felt awful. Puked up an axle later.

Never again.

Nuka's are only good for caps. I'll save the Quantum ones, because they glow, and make nice night lights when placed a lot together :D

Wait. How do you "drink" the trucks? Does this work for Fallout 4 as well?

I still have it in my head that they are rare. I hoard them and only drink them on the rarest of occasions when I need to restore health but have no stimpacks.
