Seems like almost everything I make needs oil, yet I keep running out and have to go scrounge up oil bearing junk. I keep looking for traders to buy shipments from, but none of them ever have any. I think I found one so far.

Anyone else have this problem?

Just collect bones and make the cutting fluid at the Chem station. Please don't ask me why you need bones to make oil though ...

. That is a bit odd. I know jello is made from bone, but not sure how you get cutting fluid from it

I have more problems getting glass than oil. My building mods require glass as a component for walled windows and glass doors. I'm always running out of glass even though I collect every bottle I can.
