Does date have any meaning in TES?

A friend told me that in the first 2 Elder Scrolls games there were benefits offered and certain events that were date related. But since Morrowind I have never seen anything and wonder if the date has much bearing in game? And do you think it might in a future game?

Yeah supposedly there were holidays in Arena and Daggerfall, and you also could only summon the Daedra Lords on certain days as well, I think.

As for Morrowind-Skyrim, the dates don't seem to matter.

I usually have no idea what day it is or what month it is, and I only notice what time it is when I try to enter a closed shop. Daggerfall did have holidays but they aren't that important or noticable. You could only get deadric quests on one day of the year, which is the only thing that has forced me to plan a schedule.
