Was just wondering about the vault 111 area for giggles (lone wanderer run through) when I found a small R.R lookout post over looking vault 111.

It has the R.R sign for ally if I remember rightly on a wooden board along with some water - in case nobody knows where it is - it's to the right of vault 111 as you look over Sanctuary (go past the ruined van/vehicle and its on a small rise ahead).

Any ideas what it's all about? I know Deacon stalks you around the Commonwealth before you join the R.R - see guard at Diamond City, caravan guard at Bunker hill etc

There also a chair overlooking Red rocket the same way (no sign there)

It is kind of hinted at the Deacon has some crazy Idea about the past is the key to finding the institute....(and In my mind at least he was watching 111 knowing it was something big, but did not have a pip boy I guess to get in.... Maybe hehe)

There's no way to be sure but the running theory is that the lookout is one of Deacon's and he marked the Vault as a potential Ally location when he saw you come out. It's likely he's also the one who spread word of someone leaving Vault 111 to Diamond City Radio. Which is why you can hear Travis talk about a sighting of someone leaving Vault 111 before you've even visited Concord.

I thought it was a really nice touch.

Deacon is the most likely candidate. He also shows up at diamond city as a guard.

There's a very familiar looking "drifter" in Goodneighbor. Not sure if he still shows up after you've made contact with the RR though.

Agreed, its probably Deacon.

That guy gets around, you can also find him in Goodneighbour outside the shops as well as in one of the pods in the memory den.

Deacon can be seen in a memory lounger if you go there first before being sent there as part of the MQ.

The question is, how the fudge it came up to his mind that there's a vault and knew somebody was alive in that specific small town's vault.

For all we know Deacon was there (in an institute suit hah)

My second playthrough currently I found Deacon walking around goodneighbor after what's his face ghoul mayor gave his speech (how do I forget his name? LOL) I was like... WTF THAT'S DEACON!!!! I tried to talk to him but he was the only resident that wasnt being a dike to me and I was like... that IS Deacon!

And who runs Goodneighbor? Hancock!!

Yup, I've seen Deacon in Goodneighbor as well, before I walked the Freedom Trail. I'm certain that he has stalked me from the time I came out of the vault. Oh, would have been cool, if he had shown up pretending to be a settler in Sanctuary, when I build the beacon! LOL
