Pain train is a terrible cap perk

It's pretty aggravating that the last perk only works in PA when it's useless to melee/unarmed build. Using PA with a gun is fun because your damage isn't tied to your special so losing 5 points isn't as significant. Knocking people over isn't worth losing 30% damage and the ground pound is essentially worthless without the leg mods and jetpack. Even then it does a fraction of what a normal attack would. Not to mention pa is so big and loud

even with endless cores I would never use it.



So my suggestion is this,

- make the charge knockback applicable to non-pa, it already doesn't affect large npcs.


-change the ground drop mechanic to a standing 2 handed power attack that hits the ground for aoe knockback for the last rank

I agree. I thought it was kind of dumb that you need a 10 strength and then power armor basically sets your strength to 11. Should be no power armor and wearing power armor should let you do it by default.

I have lots of fun as the perk it is now , I'm not obsessed with immersion but knock down a super mutant without a power armor will look so goofy that I don't wanna see that happens.


Plus , the metal sound when you hit an enemy is also the funny part of this perk , you can't have this sound effect without the PA , and without that sound , I'll probably wouldn't use.

I can get behind this, altho with no power armour they might have to rework it a bit. But Pain Train as a integral move when in Power armour makes sense, given that it has a certain weight to it :)

AGREED. I mean for a perk thats only available at 10 strength and not being able to tackle people without power armor is just stupid, I don't know what they thinking to justify it but it makes no sense, I mean you got aliens crashing, super mutant viruses a [censored] junk jet but you have to have power armor to tackle somebody if your as strong as you possibly can be? No. And don't get me started on how theres no finisher or counter animations for ANY of the wasteland creatures and the SINGLE power armor animation that replays forever. You can get stuck in a broken animation while trying to fight a deathclaw or ghoul where you play one of the melee finisher animations but it doesnt work and the enemy keeps hitting you. They have the mechanic in place but they havent coded it in?
