Brink for Xbox 360 or Pc?

Post » Tue Jul 06, 2010 12:30 am

Well, if you want dedicated servers and mods. . . the PC would be the way to go.
If you're into the home theater experience, ease of use, and don't care to use P2P. . . then the 360 would be the right choice.

False, you can connect a PC to a TV just like you would with a xbox 360/ps3 through HDMI cord. You can use any controller on PC including xbox 360.

yea im going with pc but ps3 is good too i use mine for driving and sport games

On top of all the reason for PC (which I agree PC is better in all aspects) Driving and sports games are better on PC as well for all the same reasons. Just buy a controller and have a blast. IMHO there is never a benefit to playing on a console especially with buying a game then having to pay LIVE fees to boot.

To me I like PC gaming more than consoles. I don't own a console, but I've played on one before. Playing FPS on console is not as easy as it looks, especially on aiming. Maybe it's because on PC is draws you closer to the game; instead of sitting on the couch leaning forward, you're sitting in front of it, or it could be because of the earphones giving a better surround sound. But the problem in PC gaming is that consoles are always more powerful than PCs I heard, unless your PC has components like an Alienware which is expensive.

Well you can get a good gaming PC that can play modern games at max for about $600 easily.
I thought this was interesting. In this interview with Paul Wedgwood this control vs topic came up and I think he had some interesting things to say.

GR: Shadowrun was a title that supported PC-Xbox 360 interplay, but the PC controls suffered heavily as a result.

PW: “That’s a whole different kind of design challenge, because if you’re on a mouse and keyboard, you have anologue aim, but on-off movement, and if you’re on a console controller, you have an advantage for your movement, because you can control the rate at which you move forward, from very slow to very fast, but you have slightly less control over how well you are aiming.”

Yeah I use a controller for shadowrun on my PC since that game is really about moving around. Also, I played it on xbox 360 before PC, so used to it.
I've read about several experiments with big numbers of PS3s wired together to manage really complex calculations. However, this does require many PS3s for the multiple CPUs. One of them is still not too powerful.

Well, I don't own a XBox360 myself but on a friend's TV I always recognise the aliasing when we play GTA IV or Halo or PES.

2015-2020 until they come out; that's what I've read.

I heard around 2015 so that's sounds about right.
I don't think we need new generation on consoles - I think the whole PC and console thing is done to death. They should just concentrate on designing a system that plays games in general, not only console or only PC games, where you can use any control device you want, whether it be a m/kb, trackball, controller, joystick, etc. Kinda like what Onlive is doing, but with the ability to buy hard copies of games.

You can already do that with PC, you can literally use ANY controller. You can buy hard copies of PC games at places such as bestbuy. You can play it on a TV through HDMI cable. Console is a mini computer no matter how you look at it, meaning a PC will always be superior.

Not all in Imo. (360 and PS3). Consoles can't get viruses, Consoles don't have compatibility issues - every1 is the same, Consoles don't usually have lag, Consoles are easier to just buy and go - whereas a good gaming rig takes effort and money, Consoles are cheaper, Also it's near impossible to cheat/hack during games like one can on a PC.
Also you can hire out games for consoles and when buying you can take them back to the store if not like - PC is permanent decision.

I'm not saying consoles are better (Even tho I'm a 360 person), cause I know they aren't (Compared to a rig better than a console). But PC is NOT better in ALL aspects.

Apparently consoles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-M9K97aX4I

And why the PC must not be better in all aspects, it can be, imho. Which does not work the other way round.

It can't be better in terms of price.

Threads like these are always a bad idea.

I'd play on PC if I could but I just can't afford it.
