Boston Airport Settlement

Without giving out spoilers, I can't see why this can't be used as a normal settlement because it remains in the game no matter what you do, anyone else agree?

I'm not sure how to get food there to support a population.

Yeah I have no idea what the point of that settlement is, it's useless for anything other than banishing unwanted settlers and companions.

That place it's only used if you build the signal interceptor with the BOS , other than that and it's an useless settlement .

Grab all the stuff you can scrap from there and take it to other of you settlements.

I actually did build a little settlement there. It's the saddest settlement I have. Since there is such limited actual ground space you can't grow food, there is enough space to put a few water pumps in though. Even though the settlement is connected to other settlements they just complain about starving. Weirdly, sticking people in there counts as happiness for both the airport and the Prydewin. Why the Prydewin is considered it's own separate settlement on the map but still operates on the airport settlements stats is beyond me. I sent 7 settlers there. .. Kind of pretending I was setting up a recruiting base for the BOS. The settlers do roam around the entire base instead of sticking to the settlement area so that's kind of interesting.

All in all it's probably best to just use it for scrapping.

Makes you wonder if it was originally bigger, like I think Jamaica plain was. The settlers there roam round a much larger area than the actual buildable area.

Maybe after but If you decide not to side with a certain faction it would basically just force them to come over to that location and would be a mess. Arent there named guys to behind that area/location that would perpetually just cycle through laying there and get up/get cut down over and over.

That's probably why. I don't see why post game its not available though.

In the art book Airport was also a settlement, with markets and all. So maybe...

Yeah, well I didn't assemble the thing in the warehouse so the doors are inaccessible to me and npc that i send there often spawn inside that inaccessible area.

I was very disappointed when i got access and realised i couldn't build market stalls.

Now I use it as a banishment settlement where I send the companions who annoy me or can't be assigned to tasks.

That's usually what I do. It's only useful to build parts for Liberty Prime and for the Signal interceptor. Although, I usually build the interceptor at Sanctuary, so that all the power I need for it, can be re-used later for my settlement.

The airport is my base of operations, it's close to the Prydwen and I don't bother with settlers, it's perfect for me Piper and the dog.

As a few people have mentioned the Settlement isn't that good however like with all the other "useless" settlement spots (the construction site for example) I build a small shack with a bed, armour/weapon benches and store a set of the power armour there once I've gathered enough suits.

This way I place to rest, scrap all the weapons/armour I've picked up and can grab a suit of power armour without having to return to my Homebase, very useful on a low STR character :D
