Fun to play charecter

Post » Tue Mar 22, 2016 6:17 pm

I have played many different charecters for short amounts of time. All of them seem to get boring in one way or another. A melee/tank build was fun but the lack of weapon customization bothered me, a power armour build got op at level 10 when I got a suit of t-60 and the game only gets easier, and my James Bond charecter got dull because I approached every situation similarly; sneak behind 'em then spam deliverer. In the end I tried a non vats rifle build because I have decen aim and to vats well you must sink to many points into perception. But with no real specialty other than being good with rifles they were hard to role play and I didn't know if they were good or evil. I need a charecter that's fun to play and feels fulfilling (this is very general I know and open to interpretation.

The gunslinger. Look it up on YouTube. Most fun you'll ever have in Fallout 4 due to its unpredictable yet satisfying luck perks.

had a lot of fun with my shotguns only, no sneak, no vats char... but it takes some time to get it running.

and if you want to try it: stay clear of PA. use ballistic weave and legendary armour with "15% dmg reduction while upright and not moving" (that's the point in it... standing and wrecking havoc).

Well, brother (or sister, to be sure), the hard fact is . . . you sometimes gotta make your own fun.

EDIT: Oops, hit Post before I actually wanted to. Was going to add . . .

What I mean by that is, and yes it sounds platitudinous: start by being yourself. Which of us can tell you how to have fun? Maybe this game just ain't your thang. Me? I pretty much play Fallout and Elder Scrolls exclusively, and almost no other video games. I like the GTA series, but not the online mode. I would play a hockey game if there was a consistently good one to play, but for the past couple of years that's apparently asking too much. So if I'm not playing one of those games, I'm doing something else besides video games entirely. Even got a small handful of tabletop D&D campaigns on the go.

In FO4, I tend to like high-Charisma and -Intelligence snipers who aren't afraid to wade into the thick under the right circumstances and who moonlight as architects and engineers, slowly sort of rebuilding society. (This element of F04 alone is tons of fun for me.) On its own, that sounds kinda ordinary, right? But then it's what goes on in my head to piece it all together. Honestly, I once kept playing through NHL 14 "Be a Pro" mode after a glitch killed a few key abilities (speed and endurance in particular) because I was able to turn it into a story of my player getting poisoned by a jealous teammate because he was rising much too quickly in the league. Only way I could tough it out, and it ended up being a blast.

The point, anyway, at least to start, is just to imagine the SS is you and ask yourself a simple question: What would you do?

I tried it was cool and I loved the asthetic but .44 ammo is so hard to find and not many vendors sell it.

Try the pipe revolver, much more abundant ammo with only a small damage reduction.

What about unarmed, purely using your fists, get Ballistic Weave so you can run around in regular clothing with Cait being a couple of alcoholic brawlers.

Im sure a youtube channel had a build like that, looked really fun to me.

The point of the .44 was to use Kellogg's gun which helps with your criticals.

A fun and do-able character is Vash The Stampede. Gunslinger with the intent to never kill anything. Pacifying everything and dismembering ghoul limbs is the way to go.

Surprised no one has said an Explosives build yet. Battles take a lot more planning and strategy but seeing an army of super mutants go faboom! due to your strategically placed landmine next to a couple of cars is so gratifying!
