Should I be picking up these Power Armor's?

Post » Fri Mar 25, 2016 7:16 am

I'm speeding around the map and have collected 2 power armors and a 3rd is right in front of me. Should I be picking them up? Or rather, does the game change the power armor based on my level? So if I leave it there(not touch it) then come back at a higher level will it be better power armor?

The reason I suspect this is because on my first run at level 30+ I ran into X-01 armor in the middle of a street. So should I leave these guys alone?

As I understand it, once you have entered a cell that contains a piece of power armor,

that 'sets' it, so if you walk past a suit, you may as well pick it up because it won't change.

Most abandoned frames will level up with you. Even if it is a x-01 it might be a better version of it if you come back at a higher level as long as you haven't visited the area/cell before.

Some frames have a static level though so even if you stay away until level 30-40 they will not level up.

Once you find it, the suit is set so you may as well take it. If you can't or don't want to take it right away pull any installed fusion core so a NPC does not make off with it before you come back for it.

I take them all. Sanctuary Main Street has an honor guard of empty suits on both sides. The only time I ever use one is if I go to the Glowing sea. Hazmat Suit and Leaded X-01 PA.

Is this real? Are there really different levels of X-01 power armor?

What about guns?

All power armor models have 6 different levels. T-45 , T51 and T-60 are of levels A-F while X-01 are of levels MK I (1) to MK VI (6).

All frames can be upgraded and modded though at power armor stations. However that requires sufficient resources and the relevant perks.

Are you kidding me? Pick. Up. Everything. You. See.

Or the Wasteland Gods of wastefulness will poison your Brahmin burgers and take your Legendary weapons and give them to your settlers. Apart from folders and burnt magazines. That sh*t is useless. Only a crazy man would pick those up. (Hides pile of burnt magazines and folders under 427 sets of Raider Leathers)

Jeez yeah what's the point of those, the institute was so boring to loot, thousands of chests and all that's in them is folders, or if you're lucky every 10th one has one broken light bulb lol

I made it a habit to leave no (human) enemy clothed. Hell, I even take their sack hoods.

Me too lol I make any ghouls in my settlements wear them. Those svckers are just too damn ugly to look at! I call them Sackheads. Mrs Sackhead has been tending my garden at Red Rocket since I built it. My wife tells me I'm evil and they're humans too but...just too ugly. Put me off my Nuka Cola and Ribeye.

May The Wasteland Gods Of Wastefulness bless your efforts to keep the place tidy.

They all seem quite happy lol always thanking me and saying how great I am (in between the b*tching about their finger nails and backs and stuff) Um except for the ones that used to live at the slog. The named ones wouldn't do jobs properly and I couldn't figure out how to un-own their beds so I could move them so in a fit of psycojet induced frustration I accidentally on purpose nuked them all. I then learned the little glitch to fix the beds but sadly was a bit late for the shining example of ghoul civilisation.

I think the XO armor spots are pre set. Though you have to be a certain level for them to spawn as XO armor.

I think most of the XO armor is in higher level locations. So you shouldn't be ruining your opportunity to get a full suit of XO armor. The other armors probably have their own spawns. They may or may not be affected by your level. But they shouldn't affect your XO chances.

I collected 12 armor sets and I don't wear power armor on my main, as he is a stealth/sniper build. They are just matching sets in my Sanctuary looking cool. I have 1 full suit of XO armor. And I have all but one piece of XO on my 2nd XO suit. I haven't checked out all of the XO spots and I didn't even loot all of them. So you might be able to collect 2 or 3 full XO suits.

So you should be fine collecting suits from random areas. It's only when you get to higher level areas that you may be losing XO armor. But if your high enough level to enter the area in the fist place you should spawn XO armor.

I have 4 full XO1 suits. I used to have 3.6... but there was one full XO-1 suit in Automatron DLC.

Atomcat sells all PowerArmor pieces so people shouldn`t worry too much about finding right power armor except for XO-1.

They say XO-1 pieces are also sold in Atomcat garage, but I`ve never seen one being sold there.

ROFL... you are not right!!!!!!! Sounds like you enjoy your psychojet a bit too much and too often hahahahahaha Mrs. Sackhead!! :lmao:

I also keep the Slog a ghoul only settlement. When a ghoul shows up at my other settlement, they are being sent to the bog in the slog. LOL

I only loot everything off the perps who attack my settlements, which is promptly being scrapped! :) Well and Triggermen (my settlers wear black vest and suspenders with slacks hehe), but I can't look at their corpses... naked ghouls... *shudders and gags*

Well, 100 Folders = 100 Caps!! And they weigh nothing! So, yea, I do loot folders LOL I'm thrifty like that... a caps saved is a caps earned or something like that.

Edit: I forgot what this thread was about.

@ OP: Pick dat suit up!
