Robot work force.

Is anyone else replacing their human workers with robots? It seems much more efficient. Plus I give my robots names like farm-bot.

Yeah, forget replacing humans with Synths. Robots are the true master race!

So robots do not take a settler slot in the count then?

And robots can be provisioners, thus saving your human settlers for other tasks?

They do take up a settler slot. But they don't need to sleep.

Thanks.

So can I send a couple to an empty settlement and actually have them work on an all robot farm (like Greygarden)?

Also, do they add to the DEF of a settlement based on their armaments?

Ya I tested this. I sent an aptly named farm bot to an empty settlement and you can assign it. I don't know about the defense thing though.

No they don't add to the settlements defense rating just like upgrading the settlers weapons and armor won't make an attack less likely..... however shoulder mounted rockets and a hail of lasers tends to make short work of anything.

Me thinks the BoS might get a bit annoyed to find that when they finally show up. ^_^

I find that Assaultrons make great supply line provisioners!

Actually they do pretty much make institute synths obsolete.

That is my home base on my first (BOS) Playthrough, which I resurrected to play the DLC.

The Population currently consists of.....

Piper

Synth Shaun

Curie

Dogmeat

Codsworth

Ada

Bob (Sentry Bot)

Jill (Sentry Bot)

Jezebel (annoying robobrain)

Probably the most well defended location in the Commonwealth with Liberty Prime, BOS guards, massed turrets and a couple of mini nuke armed sentry bots providing security.

I had something weird happen when i built a Protectron and assigned it to an artillery piece. It built OK, and when I assigned it, it climbed four flights of stairs to the roof and manned it's gun....but after about an hour or so I was finished wiring up the building and went inside and found it dead next to the Robot workbench on the first floor. The gun still showed it had someone assigned so I chucked a smoke grenade into the stream and Freedom radio said there was no gun in range. checking the gun again showed it was now unassigned. Now it's lying there next to the workbench and I cannot move it. Anyone see something like this happening before ?

Yep, definitely planning to have some all robot settlements when I start a new character. I'll probably make one main "human' settlement that will be finely taken care of by a horde of robot workers. ..

I built a bunch of robots and then finally ran out of ceramic. I never really collected ceramic except by random pickups so it was weird running out of something that I previously didn't really use.

Is anyone else having trouble getting their farmbots to tend to one plant at a time? Mine seem to only want to do one lol. Assigning then to shops is a bust too.

Ditto for me as well. They are tough, can cover most terrain types and dish out a good deal of death with their weapons.

What about as Provisioners? I'm in the process of setting some up but would like to make sure it works. Though in truth I just need the supply line and don't care about them walking back and forth correctly or not. Thought I'd test it out by just having one go from Sanctuary to Red Rocket.

I used Jezebel to set up a supply line to Mechanist's Lair, seems to work the same as settlers just assign them to supply routes.
