Dlc weapons all hopelessly underpowered

Post » Fri Mar 25, 2016 2:10 am

So the new lightning gun is impossible to hit anything with if you use the lobber mod.

The assaultron head gun critted on a lvl 15 turret and took off 20% of the hp. I'm pretty sure the bb gun was stronger.

Buzzsaw is decent but it's essentially the same damage as a ripper minus bleeding and legendary effects.

The new sword is identical to the other swords don't know what the point is.

Kind of frustrating seeing robots getting

weapons that are better than the ones we get. Where's my hammer saw? Where's my napalm lobber?

They even have working shishkebabs meanwhile ours are bugged.

>_<

Oh yeah and the mechanist armor is worthless.

Man, I don't care about power, having a Tesla Rifle/Shotgun I can charge up to fire Mega-Man style is awesome, plus it's great for swarms of enemies since the electricity arcs between targets. Curie gets the Assaultron Head and Sword, though.

Assaultron sword is damn awesome, im only sad it's not motorised because it would be a proper chainsword and not the ripper. Otherwise the design is really cool. Gonna use it definitely in my next build.

Tesla gun is fine, i made a shotgun version of it and it deals good damage, but combat shotgun or plasma thrower is better for the situation. Assasultron's head is cool but the damage is quite bad yes, as for the mr handy's buzzsaw, i didnt try it.

The Assaultron Head weapon has saved my life a few times, once I figured out how to get it going.

Well, the tesla gun is a rifle.. so if you didn't take the rifleman perks you might not be getting the best results. Tesla rifle does 230 damage for me.. (That's with the charging long barrel on it..) .. That's better than the .50 sniper rifle and about half the damage of the Gauss rifle.... but I can also shoot it 8 times in vats.. compared with the 3 times I can shoot the Gauss rifle that makes it a pretty powerful weapon.

I actually love the assaultron sword, I wish it had more varied and interesting mods other then just the one but from playing a MGS style BOS ninja its badass (BOS uniform: the grey and green one, assaultron helm, shadowed combat armor, assaultron sword, silenced sniper for range)

I found another assaultron sword on a dust raider near Bunker Hill. That makes me think it is possible to get a legendary version.

So its entirely the mod's fault.

Did you crank the weapon up to 5 charges first? Its kinda like a pistol version of the musket rifle. It may seem weak but fully cranked it packs a serious punch.

Yeah I cranked it. Still did about as much as a .22. As for the electric random lobs not even a vats crit could hit with that random of a projectile.

I find myself pretty disappointed in the new weapons as well. I was looking forward to using the Tesla Rifle in hopes that it would be a good energy weapon in a Fallout game that is lacking in that department, and it just doesn't deliver for the most part. I don't know where the game is getting 230 or 280 damage from, because I'm not seeing it one bit. Even with the Lone Wanderer perk increasing the shotgun version to like 325 I still felt it was lackluster. Think I'll experiment on it a bit more. Perhaps try the normal rifle version and see if I get some better results.

Assaultron Head is a fun weapon to use on enemies you know are going to die easily from it. Not something I'd rely on against a Super Mutant Warlord or one of the tougher Automatron robots though.

I have to say though, I felt this was a wasted opportunity. I think Automatron was the perfect time to reintroduce Pulse weapons as top tier energy weapons. Would have taken that over a Tesla Rifle.

Probably has to do with the accuracy.. shotgun and lob have really low accuracy. The long charging barrel really got the job done for me.

Use the automatic mod on the Tesla rifle. For some reason, it only says 60 damage, but it does three times the damage of any other Tesla weapon varient. It completely roflstomps everything I come across on very hard difficulty.
