Is there a crafting workbench in Mechanist's Lair?

Seeing as the Mechanist's Lair is listed as a Settlement, I tried to find the crafting workbench to customise it.


But despite thoroughly searching the facility, I could not find one anywhere!



Does anyone know if the Mechanist's Lair was ever given one?


Or was it intended to be non-customiseable?

Same room as the boss battle.


Note - the craftable area does not extend very far past that area.


No water or dirt for crops.


Note: All the trash in the area is scrapable. Makes a nice open base.

Thanks for the advice.


I found the Workstation, did some cleaning up, added some stuff.



Tried to get the room to light up properly, but it was far too big and the lights were too small to illiuminate it properly.



Remind me to ask the Mechanist where the lightswitch is......

Also note the small generator in the lair needs to be repaired. I built a large one next to it and hooked them together. Some small lights are on.



I swear I found schematics for the bright wall lights - but I don't know how to build them.


Wishing I had not shot out the originals - but they were interfering with my fight.

The wall lights are in the defences menu, amongst the turrets.



The other nice thing about the Mechanist's lair base is that there is a radiation decontamination station not that far away. Okay, it's a walk, but not a long one, and there aren't any enemies en-route.

I liked the huge area to play with and might plan something out here. It even has a vendor built in.



Im not too fond of the many doors/access points, and wondering if/how it will be attacked if I need to defend it.



But I was gonna try and close the doors/just build a wall.



The area has lots of potential...

Those wall lights (build menu under turrets) are great if you don't mind them moving. Also, don't forget to wire them up.


They put out a lot of light.



With no food or water, I doubt if the lair will ever be attacked - but I did put one big sentry bot on guard duty.



The lair is on a caravan route - but my workbench is showing no sign of additional supplies yet.



I am tempted to build a three story wooden structure in the Lair - but not sure why. Plenty of room.


With no food or water, I am not likely to add settlers.

If you can't do water, then why do the water options show up? Food doesn't . . .



Its cool that they made it a settlement, but its a lot like the nearby airport settlement. You can't do much with it so I'm not sure what the point is beyond as a player base.

How do you put a robot on guard duty? I got suzy ready, but neither she nor Ada will stand guard....



And what other duties aside from Provisioner do they do?
