Need Help Recruiting More Settlers

Post » Fri Mar 25, 2016 12:37 pm

I have a radio beacon installed in Sanctuary, plenty of beds, loads of food and water but I only have 7 settlers. How can I get more?

Also if you send someone as a provisioner for a supply line, does that supply line go both ways?

You turned it on right? It needs to have a green light. Other than that, it depends on your charisma point, you need to increase your charisma to get more settler, at less than 7 charisma, I don't think you can get more than 7 settlers.

I wish you could trun pacified enemies into laborers. I would be able to populate all of my awesome settlements.

Provisioners work both ways, yes. It links and shares the supplies, so it doesn't matter if which settlement you send the provisioner out from - both settlements will share resources.

You can have 10 + charisma settlers, so your charisma shouldn't affect anything below 11 settlers. The beacon stops recruiting if you have five or more unassigned settlers, though. For some reason, provisioners also count as unassigned, so if you have a main base where you are sending all your provisioners out from, then you need to have the beacon in another settlement, and then send the new recruits to the main base as they arrive in the recruitment settlement.

In workshop mode, highlight the settler and you should have an option on the bottom for 'move'. When you select that a list of your settlerments pops up. Pick the one you want.

I don't get it either. I have 10 Charisma. Sanctuary has 22 settlers. It has every type of emporium except medic. It has food, water, power, beds and protection WELL over the desired number for the number of settlers. I have a beacon, and it's on and broadcasting. Every settler has a job, happiness is hovering around 80-85...

Why isn't everyone and their mother moving in here??? It's been at 22 forever.

10 Charisma will give you 20 settlers. You probably have some Charisma-boosting items which helped you get to 12 charisma, which helps you get to 22 settlers.Try sending someone there - if the option is greyed out then 22 is the max your current charisma allows. If it's not greyed out then you have space for more, just that you are not attracting new settlers. Provisioners do not count as having a job for some reason, so if you have at least five provisioners in Sanctuary you won't be able to attract anyone new there.

That whole five provisioners thing to account for five or more unassigned settlers is going to screw up my Sanctuary utopia!

I see. I don't think I have Charisma items, all my armor is Strength/Agility/Perception/Endurance.

I did sent the Vault Tec Rep, Piper and McCready to Sanctuary, maybe they don't count towards the limit?

Well, now if you have Automatron you can build your own settlers! They can do most tasks, but won't run your stores. I'm not sure if they work Scavenging Stations yet.

there's really no reason to have 5 provisioners coming out of sanctuary.... you should use red rocket as your trading post for sanctuary. have one provisioner coming out of red rocket go to sanctuary and then a second one coming out of red rocket connecting the other settlements.... and have one provisioner per settlement connecting to the next. Also... it would be a bit more convenient if you chose a settlement to recruit... for example, I use drive in as my recruitment center. I have a radio tower there and whenever a new settler joins I send them to whereever they're needed.

22 is about all you are going to get waiting on the beacon to bring them in. What I do like others have said is send them in from another settlement, but you need to raise your chr. past 22 by using chems or clothing that boost it up so the settlement you want won't be grayed out if you are already maxed there.
