Ada's upgrades

Just started the DLC and built the robot crafting station.



At first I just built a Protectron looking thing named Number 1 and sent it off the Sanctuary. Interesting.



Next was Ada. I basically just made sure she had armor everywhere. Then I changed her legs for hover jets since she was way too slow as is. Then just so she doesn't charge into attack all the time I gave her ranged weapons in her hands (laser and gatling laser). Next I painted her Red so she would stick out during combat and hopefully catch less friendly fire from me.



So, initially what else would be a good start up mod for her or should this be good enough to do the DLC quests? I'm at the point where I'm ready to go to the first location she's listed.

I like restoring Her Assaultron legs as soon as I find a set in Loot. I like Electricity, and She gets a Shock based Mod as soon as possible depending on character Perks. I considered turning Her into the Promo Slide Pack Mule/Sentry, but I made a Sarge 2.0 for the Castle.

I restored Ada back to her assaultron roots (though given the butcher job she had when we first met, I'm not entirely sure what her roots originally were). I did upgrade her head to the assaultron laser eye and melee shock weapons and she held her own all the way through.

I just did what you do.



I gave Ada 'Mr. Handy's Jet' and that's it. I'm currently on the third quest, I think. It's enough.



I'm actually also planning to keep Ada's look as close to her default as possible.

Yeah as soon as I saw her try to follow me from Sanctuary to Red Rocket I knew I had to do something about those legs. I do like her in Red though and it does help me spot her in a crowd so I don't try to blow her head off. :D

I didn't really mess with her until after the DLC, at which point I just gave her back her Assaultron legs. Biggest problem was catching up with her when I first met her: she was sliding all over the place at high speed. I think it's because I had an Apple Updater trying to update iTunes in the background; it didn't pop up until after I'd started the game, so I think it was screwing with things. Once I shut that down, everything was fine.

Never give ada sentry bot legs, or any robo companion you want following you, as they can not enter any small areas.

I'm saving the sentry bot leg parts I've found for the Wasteland Workshop. Imagine a heavily armored and customized sentry bot going up against a Deathclaw in a gladiator battle.

I can't bring myself to heavily mod Ada. Feels disrespectful to her previous friends to change her too much. I enhanced her armor though and gave her two ranged options rather then melee (A Laser Sniper and a Laser Scattergun). Upgraded her Protectron legs for faster movement speed and I'm pretty happy with her as she is now.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I only increased her armor a little, but kept everything else.
