The Mechanist's Lair, to me, is a great place to make a player home. There is no worry of settlers stealing your stuff or attacks from Raiders, Gunners or other enemies. The lair is also much, much larger than Home Plate which allows for a lot more things. As such, I'm moving everything from Home Plate to the Mechanist's Lair.

For my player home I chose to build it up high directly opposite from the control room. After removing the catwalks I got to work. Here are the results so far:
