Fireplace Mess-Up

Post » Sun Mar 27, 2016 2:35 am

I was wondering if anyone else noticed, that when you are using the "FireplaceWood01Burning" from the moveable static, it now has a ring of stones around it. It is not a mod conflict, for I am not the only one who has noticed it. Does anyone know how to put it back to the way it is supposed to be without the ring of stones?? Even the Riverwood Trader has the ring of stones in the fireplace.

Mine doesn't. Could you possibly have altered your editor.ini file to load up some other bsa's ?

Have you seen if it's a loose file? If so, have you examined it in NIFSkope?

Looks http://imgur.com/72zH28r in the Creation Kit. Something you've got installed is changing it on your end.

Crap. I do not remember how to post a picture. I know nothing of NIFSkope. It is in the creation kit is all I can say, and that is the way it has looked since the ck updated. If I could remember how to post a picture i would so one could see. I also asked DarkFork127 about it and he replied that he noticed it also and he is on the other side of the world from me.

If someone would be so kind as to refresh this old brain on how to post a picture i will post one to show you what it looks like.

You could upload to like Tumblr/photobucket, and link to there :)

For what it's worth: is anyone else using your computer? I had an issue a while ago that was a bit similar (with DG's Vampire Lord) because someone had installed a Mod that changed the VL mesh without me knowing what it did, and I had a similar issue of everyone thinking I was crazy :P

If you extract the meshes.bsa to your Desktop, you should have the 100% original version of all the meshes used in Vanilla; and you can compare the two.

(Because I use Mod Organizer, I personally have a 'Mod' which is just the default Meshes and Textures, loaded very early--it's useful for those times when you want to go check an original mesh/modding, although I'm not 100% sure if it's actually bad for performance :S )

No one else uses the pc. It has me baffled, as when steam updated, then the ck updated, and I lost every one of my .pub files and had to re-publish them using a new file. Hope that made sense. I can understand a mod conflict, but i have not changed my mods that I use to play in over 6 months. What gets me is that someone half way around the world has also noticed it also. But when I pull the FireplaceWood01Burning out of the ck to place into a fireplace, it looks just like a campfire. The original part is still there but with a ring a stones. I do not use campfires.

Here is a link to what it looks like in the ck

Getting an error on your picture link, Ashley.

But mine looks the same as Urtho's. That is the vanilla mesh, so if yours is different it's pulling information from somewhere else.

Mine also looks like Urtho's. I'd have noticed if it was wrong since I've been using it in my village expansions. You definitely have something installed somewhere that's not right.

Thanks for the input. I will try un-installing the ck and re-installing and see if that helps. In the meantime here is my load order just in case one of you can figure out which mod it is. I also update the link to the picture., Hope it works now.

It won't. The asset you're looking for is likely to be in your Data\meshes folder, which isn't something the vanilla game comes with. You probably need to go digging in there to see what's been installed.

Specifically, you want to see if this file is in there: Clutter\WoodFires\FireplaceWood01Burning.nif

Then ideally figure out which mod put it there and make sure it's not installed when you're building stuff :P

Thanks Artmoor. I will look into it.,

EDIT: It is there, under meshes, clutter, woodfires, along with a few others. Here is the list

campfire01burning.nif

campfire01landburning.nif

campfire01landoff.nif

campfire01off.nif

fireplacewood01burning.nif

How do I figure which mod put it there? It only just started the other day. Do I un-install them all and then add them one by one to see? Or do I do a complete re-install of skyrim and add them one by one?

What I do: open the folder where all my downloads of mods live, and have windows search for one of the files. When you find the first one, you'll see which mod. If you don't see the others, then search again. Of course, this requires having the compressed files from download uncompressed - I uncompress mine into folders named the same as the compressed file. I have this huge folder on my data drive - divided up into other folders, for specific sorts of mods. And then in there I have each mod in its own folder with the compressed dl file, and the uncompressed files in their own named folder.

Takes windows a while sometimes, but eventually I find out what I need to know.

I will also try that. Let you all know which mod it was.

EDIT: Found it. The mod is Vivid Weathers. I wanted an ENB with weather so I picked that one. I will uninstall it and then see if it is still there.

EDIT AGAIN: Ok. I uninstalled Vivid Weathers through NMM, ran LOOT, and the first four are still there, but not the fireplacewood01burning.nif It is gone. I also check the ck and the FireplaceWood01Burning is back to normal.

Thank you ever so much everyone for the help you have given. It is really appreciated.

Ooh, good catch. I've VW installed and I have the mesh too, wonder why a weather mod is adding woodburning meshes?!

I do not know Blackjack Davy, but that is where it was. After I un-installed the mod, the file was gone and everything was back to normal. It might be something that they picked up and did not realize. Oh well. At least i found it and have things back to normal.
