I kill the Robobrain, get the Mechanist part and it keeps saying search the robobrain with the icon on the dead robobrain but it is completely empty.

I have re loaded and gone back to earlier saves and same thing.

when i check my inventory the part is there in misc but not there if i am trying to transfer it.

I have seen in forums apparently you have to install it or give it to ada but if I try and trade it to her it is not in my inventory.

is it possible that i can proceed even though the quest hasn't updated or is the game bugged?

also there is a bug with the quest concierge as I have to eliminate the threat at the general atomics factory there is just a floating icon with nothing to kill
