Can your Mechanist lair settlement get attacked?
Can crafted robot companions count as settlers for any settlement?

Crafted Robots DO count as settlers, yes.
Dunno about Mechanist lair attacks.

Attacks at the lair?
In my game it's too soon to tell but without food and water production I doubt it.
