Chemist perk + defence 2 bugs for the price of one

Bug # 1


Ever since the start, I've had the chemist perk maxed out as I enjoy playing while on psycho and jet ( me char isn't very solid, so he needs drugs and power armor to survived most fights )



For the last few hours tho, it seems that psycho ( jet seems unaffected by this ) only lasts about 5 minutes when it should be around 36 mins according to the 200% boost. This has really been ruining my playthrough as psycho was one of my go to drugs for most battles



I have recently installed ( Althought I'm pretty sure it started before this ) automatron, could this have affected it ?



bug # 2



I recently got the bug to build defences around greentop nursery from Preston. Once I got there, I already had 16 defence ( several turrets and 1 settler on guard duty ) . I only had 2 settlers had as I did not have the components necessary for a radio tower at the time.



Now with the new quest, I have build enough turrets to boost defences to 55 and added the new settlers to those wooden defence towers.



My defence quest is still staying at 0%



Is there anyway to remedy this ?



I really keep trying to love this game, but everytime I start to get immersed into it, another [censored] bug comes out and ruins it. After over 100 hours of playtime I'm thinking of just quitting...even tho I would like to play the new DLC's coming out, but I'm scared all the numerous bugs will ruin those as well.



If there is a fix, let me know, I'd love to not have to give up on it.
