Inconsistent FPS regardless of settings (new) : Fallout 4

Hello everybody,

I've been away from the forums and the game itself for quite a while now. I am the unlucky owner of R9 series card which means I was having some extra difficulties with the game. Up until recently after bugging AMD and Ubisoft (Far Cry Primal) for 3 weeks straight, there has been a new driver release which has fixed the infamous rain (F4) and snow (FCP) TDR bug. That and the new DLC made me want to come back to the game to test things out.

I haven't had this much fun since the release, enjoying the rainy weather for the first time in forever. However it's not all sunshine and roses. Unfortunately I am still experiencing heavy stuttering and FPS drops (almost exclusively indoors) and I haven't figured a way to work this out yet.

My specs are listed in my signature, the drivers I am using at the moment are AMD CCC 16.3.1 with almost all extra settings (including OC) disabled. I run the game in 1920x1080 borderless mode with most display settings on high, godrays on low, lightning and shadow distance on medium, no AA and all the sliders on < 50%.

Later today I will try to add a dxdiag as I am at the office right now. IF anybody is still experiencing problems like these or has found a workaround - please let me know.

Do you have other programs running in the taskbar beside the game itself?

It's not quite related to your game, even so:

The 1600 CL10 has a better performance index as the 1333 CL9 ram module.

So you could just leave your ram to their default frequency. Also Fallout 4 makes better use of faster ram.

Nothing but the usual stuff - Steam, Skype, Razer Synapse, Comodo and eventually Battle.net launcher. Thes cannot be the issue since other games, even newer run with constant 60 fps on high to ultra high settings (Witcher 3, FC Primal, XCOM 2). Also I don't use any mods.

As you can play the game, but have only heavy stutterings and similar, i advise you to disable Skype and Razer Synapse for sure.

And it would not harm, to disable your Comodo antivirus as well for troubleshooting purposes.

If that doesn't make any difference try a clean boot.
