"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered&#34

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2016 12:18 am

A few weeks ago I decided to create a second character, a little while afterwards I decided that I wanted to go back and play my original character a bit... As I tried to load the save, suddenly everything would go black before the game shut down and sent me to my desktop, and then a pop up in the lower right hand corner of my screen would come up. Tried loading an earlier save from the same character, same thing happened. I don't remember what happened if I tried to load my new character after that, but I'm pretty sure it crashed, I can't even make a new game anymore.

All my old characters saves eventually disappeared too.

When it crashes the pop up says... Title: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" Rest of the text: "Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows 7( R ) stopped responding and has successfully recovered." (ignore the spaces between the R and the ( ))

I've tried a few things already, such as a few things such as a few things from the Bethesda Support Center after I searched for help with the problem and found "What do I do if Fallout 4 crashes with the error "Display driver has been recovered?"

And something with NVIDIA, which failed quickly, as I found I can't even open NVIDIA. It has the loading sign next to my mouse really briefly but other than that literally nothing happens.

Any help would be seriously appreciated, thank you.

A dxdiag report will help.

If you can't open your Nvidia control panel, perhaps its graphic driver related. How about a total clean uninstallation/remove of graphic driver and reinstall?

Are you running on a laptop that has an Intel GPU also?

This indigates that your game is most probably using the Intel GPU!

As lagnao stated above, please post a Dxdiag!
