Unrelated: I wish the Topic Title allowance on the board here was about 10 chars longer.
Since Automatron automatically installed, switching off the steam controller requires restarting steam before the kb/m work properly again.
Here's what happens.
- Start game with kb/m, plays fine.
- Turn on steam controller. play fine.
- Turn off steam controller . . .
- in game, keyboard is unresponsive mouse sensitivity is like +10000%
- in console, kb/m works fine.
- Turn on steam controller, play fine.
- Quit/restart game, no change.
- Quit game/restart steam, everything is back to normal.
My fear here is that this is a perfect storm of "blame the other guy". That fallout dev will blame steam, and that steam will blame the game, and I'll be stucked in the middle.
Please don't do that. I'm going to post over there as well. I'm just after ideas on how to put this to bed, even if it is a work around.
Speaking of work around, the TRUE SOLUTION to this problem is for the workshop mode to have real, effective support for custom kb/m assignments. I turn on the controller in the first place because my game keyboard assignments don't work at all in workshop mode. If that were fixed, the above problem simply doesn't matter any more.
