How are you using the Mechanist's Settlement?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 1:26 pm

Finished Automatron and I have questions.

1. How are you using the settlement?

a. Are you sending humans there?

b. Are you just using robots there?

c. Are you just using the site to build robots?

d. If you're doing more, what are you doing there?

The lair, what is it good for. If you're using it, tell us how and why? Are you setting up procurement routes to connect the lair with other settlements? Tell us what you are doing or plan to do with the site.

Just me, Strong and Hancock hanging out in my personal raider pit. Storing food for the coming survival mode. I have one armless/headless brown can rolling around called trashbot.

I plan on turning it into my robot workshop. Apart from the former Mechanist, only robots will live there.

Power Armor morgue. Guess who got the job of maintaining and repairing my PA? Current headcannon has Isabella in charge of reverse engineering and replicating Power Armor suits so I can have elite minuteman armor squads.

I'm also pretending I can equip them with better gear. :-(

I always wanted a bunker full of every teddy bear I ever picked up in the whole game.

I actually built a settlement and sent 6 settlers there. I stocked it with food and water, added all sorts of entertainment (pool table with all balls & 4 sticks & a rack, a rotating mirror/stobe light & radio and area to dance, a workout area with weight lifting & boxing equipment, board games on tables, a mini bowling area, a basketball hoop & ball), , and built robots to guard it (no turrets). You know what? The settlers there don't seem to mind being underground, away from everyone, no caravans in sight. Their happiness is only 70%, compared to 80-90% at my above-ground settlements, but it's not bad. I had to scrap everything, though, including the walkways. That was the only way to build so much.

A great idea. There really wasn't a good place to hang out with your bloodthirsty crew. Now your raiders, rogue gunners and all 'round bad guys/gals have a place to sleep!

I also like this. I've built my own power armor workshops. This would be a good place to bring all the armor, pieces, etc.

That's brilliant. You could line them up in there like terra cotta warriors and gaze out at them from the control room.

Robots do not need Food, Water, or use Beds. I turn the Mechanist Lair into a Robot Provisioner Hub. I name a Robot for the Settlement it will Provosion.
