Help with Fallout 2

Post » Tue Jul 06, 2010 8:57 pm

What's the easiest way to level up? I'm in New Reno, with leather armour and a few guns, got quite a bit of money etc, but I find it pretty hard in fights, I keep getting my ass kicked.

I'm running some errands for the families but apart from that I'm not sure what to do. I mostly run away from encounters from one place to another because I can't fight them!

My character is only level 2, BTW.

That seems to be your problem right there.

And, hold on... level 2 in Reno?
It seems you are in too much of a hurry.
Have you completed all available quests in Klamath, The Den, Modoc, Vault City and Gecko?
If you did you should have been more than level 2 even before leaving Klamath.
I'd suggest you go back and take your time in those cities - Reno is designed for higher level characters.

Ah okay, thanks. I just clicked about the map once I got out of Arroyo. Ran from some random encounters and ended up in New Reno... :P

I'll try and climb back up the map.

Also remember that in general, the farther south you travel the harder the random encounters get. Reno at level 2 I imagine would be hellishly hard.

***Possible Spoiler***

Don't read this if you don't want some advice on wandering.

That said, if you are going to wander, wander to the very Southwest, you'll find a particularly famous town where you can stock up on very good equipment. You'll most likely have to run away from random encounters until you get there.

But the best advice was posted above. You need to go back and complete the quests from the begining. All the "early" towns are along the northern section of the map.
