I've been playing since the first week of release and I just recently made my way into the Institute. Between real life situations, getting side tracked, testing out new characters, my highest leveled character isn't even leveled to 50 yet and I'm in rush to complete the main quest anytime soon. I just wish there was a quest to Destroy The Minutemen.

I haven't completed the story. But it's because I've been in BCT (Basic Combat Training). they gave us a two week vacation for the holidays. So all I did then was party and play Fallout 4. I got 30 hours of gameplay. I can't wait to play again Cuz I haven't played any games since 02Jan2016.

I usually kill off the story to get good gear, then start exploring for months on end!

The story was the very last thing I did.. I explored every area using the game guide maps.. (that's how I always play bethesda games.) There's always so much hidden stuff and I feel that if they went through all that trouble to put it in, I should at least go take a look at it. After all the fun I had just exploring the world, the story left something to be desired.

Finished? Not me. I had a 64th level character who got sidetracked with Automatron. She got to the end battle. I got board with it and started all over again with a new character.

I was like u lot for a long time, paused for many levels before entering the institute--than paused again when it came time to pick a faction (PS The Molecular level quest is NOT that time, theres a lot more questing after that before u really have to choose). Than at some point I decided to go for it (mostly because I didnt want to be spoiled by this forum and the multitude of fallout 4 podcasts that I listen too). I was ten days in and level 47 at the time. Once i passed the point of no return, I did only main quests so that i could return to that save game and not have to replay a bunch of side quests. My advice is GO FOR IT, FINISH THE GAME. The ending sequences are pretty Epic to see, and the fact that u must choose from one of four factions means that u havent truly finished the game as there are 3 other endings to play through! Also there is still a living breathing world when u finish and the consequences of your actions open up some new gameplay options (albeit they close off many others...but u can always reload..)

Take it from me, I NEVER keep playing a game after finishing the MQ...except this time i have

2 characters spread out over 200ish hours...I literally just started playing again yesterday after a month or two hiatus. Don't think I will ever get around to properly finishing the game, though I may continue to mess around in it.

It just seems FO4 can't hold my interest as I find the narrative still lacking quite a bit and I'm still hating quite a few design choices, even after trying to go to other games and let my apathy for the game and the world they created sort of naturally erode. I did have a good run on the big dig quest the other night..then fired it up again today and literally said, "why bother?"

I killed Kellogg then I kept building settlements instead... the story is kind of boring especially b/c my character knew the boy wasn't his b/c his wife was a garden tool.

While I have "finished" the main quest-line, my characters story isn't finished.

I eventually made safe saves and went forward with the 3 factions that have story achievements then reverted back to my safe save. Don't really see any good reason to go to end game honestly. All I'm doing is losing things without really gaining anything.
