Here's the thing. PC Fallout players are used to the game giving players an insane level of options. I really think that the main push on the "no console" side and the "you play the game I want to play" are coming from the console side. My only reasoning for this is that some toxic commenters (not aiming that one at you) have pointed out that they're playing on the console version, and the console version is the most limited version of the game.
I don't mean limited as an insult. I mean, if they change how damage resistance works in a patch, ALL console users are FORCED to get that patch and are forced to play the game that way. But PC users don't have to get that patch. Or they can mod or edit game files to turn that off. Personally I think that those limits svck.
So many of the negative comments come across as "Someone insulted me and said my PS4 version wasn't the real game because it wasn't moddable. Now your PC version's limited against your will. Ha HA. Hows it feel.".
Here's the big thing. I want the console on my PC copy of the game. And I want YOU to have the console on your PS4 or Xbox version of the game. If you need to fix the game because a quest is bugged, I want you to be able to fix it. That's it. That's all there is to this.
Anything else is baggage that people are dragging along behind them.
EDIT: My own included.
