Nexus login problem

Post » Mon Apr 04, 2016 2:49 pm

It seems I can′t log in anymore to the forums. Whenever I try to log in, create a new account or yesterday when I was logged in and tried to change my password, I come to a white screen telling me I can′t access the page. Then it suggests me to search for the page, check my connection etc but there is nothing wrong with my connection and I only ever get this problem when trying to log in to Nexus forums.

Advice?

Which Browser are you using. Using any security features on the browser like noscript?

But it worked the day before on this browser  Not using noscript. Heck, I don′t even know what that is :P

Oh, well. I just thought I′d ask if someone has had a similar problem.

Try Firefox or Chrome and see if it works?

Nah. I thought I′d give the Nexus forums a try but if it′s gonna be a hassle just to get it to work I′m not gonna bother.

Yeah, I′m lazy. I thought you knew that :P

Lazy or not, you'd be better off with a good open-source browser. Try Firefox. It's better than what you're using.

Like others have said, IE is one of the worst browsers you could have. Even if you have given up on joining nexus forums (I joined them and they are the same format as here so I recommend them) you should still consider upgrading to chrome or Firefox. It takes 5 minutes, and Firefox I know for a fact can transfer all history and saved passwords.

Edit: almost directly after I posted this I tried to sign in on my tablet on nexus and this white screen you are referring to happened to me. I will see if I can figure out a way around it and post it here. (Thus, it isn't your browser)

http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/17080-having-problems-logging-in/ is a pinned thread about "not able to login" issue, but I guess that people doesn't read pinned threads. :P

I don′t read those because the solutions are never to problems I have :P

I didn′t read the whole thread but the OP didn′t say anything about the white page and "unable to show" message I get. I′ll continue digging around for a bit though.

EDIT:

Problem fixed! If I had bothered to do what the message on the white screen told me I wouldn′t have to make this thread :P

What I did was enable every TLS and SSL in Internet Options, that′s it! No need for another browser :D

-Casey, you might wanna try this :)

IE10 is not supported by Microsoft anymore. It's officially an insecure browser. IE11 is the only supported version of IE.

I'm not sure that "Microsoft support" amounts to much, in terms of security, anyway.
