K-pop

Post » Mon Apr 04, 2016 2:01 pm

I have really started to like Korean girl groups, many of them have some very good music I think. While I don′t understand a word I love the music and their voices :)

My first foray into K-pop was with 9Muses and their https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sna6j078eOw which I′ve listened to more times than I care to confess :P I′ve also given their https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0meMvE_7i1s a few runs.

But my favourite group is BESTie and I came across them accidentally. Their debut song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtyi5LQdfBE maybe isn′t their best in my opinion but still not bad, and I think it′s growing on me. I do however love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPqtL1dtrlA and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuVi2ib-0qQ and I found out about this group with those songs and in that order. Again, too many listens than I care to confess..

Just recently I gave Oh My Girl a listen too with their song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNZKqhXCv5c. Good song and I really like the chorus, but my favourite still remain BESTie :)

It's interesting that you post this, because just yesterday I attended a Kpop dance group event here at my university. It was really quite good; the dancing was superb. I had a couple friends in it who were unrecognizably brilliant, and I even think a few of the songs/artists you mentioned might have been danced to.

Yes, I like not only the music and song but the dancing in the videos is amazing! I′m glad you got to see it live even if it wasn′t the real artists who performed. Would have liked to attend at the event myself :)

The girl bands definitely have a longer lifespan than their male counterparts who seem to die faster than a hamster.

Heh!

Found another good one with Oh My Girl - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCrCUv6rQ7I

This group seems to really thrive on a catchy chorus in their songs :)

...is bad?

Joking haha, thought we were doing a thing here.

You know....I pride myself in never actually listening to a Bieber, k-pop, nikki huge ***, soulja mess, and any of that nonsense. I just got lucky I guess. K pop is what? Bunch of anime chicks changed to real life? That's a serious question....nm watched the above video. To me, it looks like a cross between some little girl barby doll collection, one of those 1990s backstreet boy type bands, and anime. But at least theyre all pretty cute to look at rofl....

I will admit this is 200x better than any of the above mentioned messes we call music now.

Is it normal to also be waiting for a Final fantasy type cutscene the whole time?

K-pop simply stands for Korean pop, like JRPG is Japanese roleplaying games :)

Yeah, the videos are very colourful and bright, I like it. Also the music itself is to me very catchy and I sort of like not being able to understand what they′re singing. A psychologist can probably explain why :)

And please, don′t mix K-pop with Bibber or whatever he calls himself... :P

I tried listening to some, Mirocu. But the urge to jump off of something really high up never left me and thus I was forced to turn it off.

It's J-Pop, but it's catchy.

Well it wasn′t my kind of stuff, guys. But it′s great we don′t like the same things and suggestions are indeed welcome, K-pop or similar :)

Right, and people used to say they read Playboy for the articles. ;)

Watching some of those idol group videos has me wondering if I'm on an FBI watch list.

Who am I kidding. My name is probably written next to agent Smith and agent Smith.
