tweaking the timescale

Post » Thu Apr 21, 2016 11:25 am

after playing for a while, I feel like the time passes way too quickly... going into a single dungeon in the morning always results spending a whole day and half a night in it.

So I'd like to change the timescale, so that the day and the nights feel a bit longer.

Does someone here already have experience with this?

Is it better just to use a mod, or simply tweak it by using the console?

Are there any bugs that are related to a changed timescale?

Is it safe regarding game stability and the save-files?

the original value seems to be at 20? What would be a good number to change it to?

thanks :]

I play all of Bethesda's games using a timescale somewhere between 5-8. In the 14 years I've been doing this I have not noticed a problem yet. I change my timescale via mod or Wrye Bash.

I have always played with timescale set to 12. I do this via the console during the opening credits when you hear the horse in the background pulling the cart. Once I get to Helgen I Save prior to being called up for character creation and use that Save Game to start new characters. Try out different times. Twelve seems right for me, others like the lower numbers (longer days) like Pseron Wyrd suggested; it's really a matter of personal taste! :)

I too have used 12 since Oblivion and had no issues with it.
