Oblivion:Heavy Armor Tips?

Post » Wed May 11, 2016 5:11 pm

Atm I'm at lvl 20, finished the Thieves Guild-Arena-Mages Guild and atm going through the Dark Brother's remaining quests. I wanna wear Daedric Armor (it looked a lot cooler for females in the concept art) which I never really bothered with before. I had the idea (and did this with the gloves) to enchant all the parts to increase my strength, as they'll be over-weighting me this could help.

But that'll cost tons of money that atm wanna save for training my major skills (and soul gems so I can recharge my weapons, I always get black soul gems btw), so are there any tips or tricks to help me wear this armor without hours upon hours of getting hit and healing? I wanna hear different advise before using the idea I had.

P.S I also wanna enchant stuff for 100% chameleon for when I return to Shivering Isles, sad we can not give armors 2 enchantments huh?

My first character was obsessed with her carry weight and enchanted everything she wore with strength. That really helped. She also used several feather spells, and learned to make feather potions. In your case, it sounds like money would solve your problem, then you can buy grand soul gems to enchant with.

The best way to make a lot of money is with alchemy. Buy all the fruits and vegies and make potions to sell right back. Even at low level, lots of gold can be made quickly. If that's not appealing, then visit the creature caves and collect enchanted rings and armor. There is a lot of gold to be made that way. It's about perfect for a character at your level 20.

Since this is in Spoilers, here are a few of my favorite places to make quick money: Crawfish, Haynote, Newt, Reedstand, Robbers Glen, Sandstone, Swampy, Arrowshaft, Bramblepoint, Red Ruby, Horn, Charcoal, and lots more. A good run through one of those will get you 5,000.

Well I been busy with the guilds and after I got Umbra my weight went up (it goes from 0 weight to over 40? Ha-ah Vile very funny..), suppose I should get more grand soul gems and turn them into black soul gems.

Try to level up your heavy armor skill. At skill level 75 (Expert) then all equipped heavy armor encumbrance is 50%. When you get to 100 (Master), equipped heavy armor weighs nothing at all.

If you are doing the main quest, some of the Sigil Stones can be used to enchant items with a 125 Feather permanent effect, which is more effective by far than either the Feather or Strength enchantments you can make using grand soul gems.

My character has a walking around spell "Detect Life 100 feet/Feather 100 points/Fortify Magicka 100 points/Water Breathe for 120 seconds" that he keeps up continuously and "Night Eye/Feather 100 points/Invisibility for 40 seconds" which he adds on for exploring. So that's a total of 200 points of feather and his heavy Madness armor is no problem. I also invested the time to Master that skill so that the armor has zero encumbrance. It did not take "hours and hours".
