Vilkas, Blood's Honor bug

Post » Wed May 11, 2016 10:31 pm

For some reason when I complete the Blood's Honor Quest Vilkas mentions how we are going to avenge Kodlak, but for some reason he just stops talking turns around and walks in the other direction then the next quest won't start. I understand that this bug can occur when you clear out a dungeon before this quest that causes this bug, however I didn't clear out this dungeon so I have no Idea of how to fix this!

I don't have any definite solutions for you but clogging up the board isn't helping. Try loading an earlier save and complete the quest again and see if that works I guess.

Ya sorry about spamming, I didn't mean too. My computer is slow today and I accidentally clicked the post button more than once, so once again sorry! I also apologized in one of my posts about this! BTW thanks for the suggestion but I tried this already.

You could go to a totally different cell, wait 31 days to make sure everything in the game resets and then go back and see if Vilkas will continue with the quest.

Ah, no worries. A mod should be able to delete the extra versions of this thread. Anyway, if you're on PC you should be able to use console commands to force the next quest to start. If not, check your misc quests and see if you have the quest to retrieve the Helm of Winterhold in there. According to the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Purity_of_Revenge, if the Helm is in Driftshade Refuge it can make Purity of Revenge a bit screwy. I'd read the entire bugs section but the solution basically boils down to reloading a save from before completing Blood's Honor, going to Driftshade and retrieving the Helm but make sure you don't kill any of the Silver Hand members.

I never started that helm quest, however I am on PC so what how can I force the quest to start? Obviously through console commands but what would I type to start it?

Er, I think you use the setstage command in the console? Or something? I play on PS3 so I've never used console commands. You can get the quest's ID numbers and the different stages from the wiki but I don't know exactly what to do with them. I'd wait a bit and see if a PC user pops in and if not, try Google or Youtube.

I had problems like this with other quests before. Pretty much every time this has happened, i would just load a previous save, hence why saving should be your best friend!

You can look up the console command http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Console. Its something like "setstage" then type the id of the quest and the stage you want to advance to, but look it up to make sure you type it right.

Then go http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Proving_Honorfor the quest id, assuming Proving Honor is the right quest (I've never heard of "Blood's Honor"). If I linked the wrong quest, you can look up the quest in the same UESP database I linked.
