issues with my Vampiric necromancer

So I have a Breton vampiric necromancer. shes lvl10 and ive been having quite the time keeping my Reanimated corpses around long enough to do anything useful.


its not that they are weak , when they do manage to fight their useful. Its the other 90% of the time they just stand there , get stuck in the doorway, disentegrate less than 5 seconds after i raise them etc.


An example , I want to live in the swamps nearMorthal so i did the quest to clean out Movarths lair. I first raised one of the spiders in the first room , and he promptly got stuck in the hall. Then i raised a vampire thrall in the next and he just stood there while i fought the other thrall and then disentigrated. And i raised the next and he plain.disappeared when i ran through the hall leading to Movarth.


So there iam alone fighting Movarth and his thrall. I managed to kill his thrall and raise him. and barely lived due to the fact he was standing around most of the time. -.-


Im on xbox so no mods. is it just my bad luck with reanimated corpses or does everyone have these issues? I really enjoy my character and want to lvl her up but i barely make it through some fights due to my reanimations just failing all the time.


what am i doing wrong?


my conjuration is currently 48 and i have perks in necromancy, summoner,novice and adept.


i also use lightarmor, onehand, restoration, alteration. later on iam going to do illusion aswell

Ok I haven't had the time issue you have but I do know when I played as a necromancer and raised bodies I had to make sure they had their weapons before raising them. Otherwise I got the standing still thing.



So here's how it worked for me. Search the body, pick up the weapon out of inventory (sometimes you will see it laying beside them), put the weapon back in the inventory THEN raise. It's a bit of a pain but if I recall right it fixed the standing around issue for me.

The weapon trick works thanks! Im also noticed my reanimations disentigrate after i go through a loading zone , like a door and it makes them unlootable...

Yup. Far as I know there's no fix for that. You have to keep your raising confined to the zone you are in.



Glad it worked! Wish I could be a help on the time thing but I didn't have that issue. Hopefully someone else will see this and come in with a fix for ya :)

To do necromancy using the standard vanilla system, it helps a lot to use stealth, Try a build that uses a bound bow to kill an enemy, then raise the corpse from a distance while sneaking. This will cause the zombie to fully raise before you are attacked.
