Post » Tue May 24, 2016 2:55 pm

Greeetings,

also if many years ago I was good at putting mods into Morrowind, this is my fiirst time with Oblivion, then, need assistance.

I want know if I must put something basic before place mods, like I did in Morrowind, in which I used Wrye Mash, TESTool and other helps before start to put mods into the game.

If you give me these basics, I think that I can do myself the rest.

Thank you of your replies, and good game.

So you are asking about installing mods into TES 4? But you are in Morrowind forum.

Anyway it has been some time since I installed mods for Oblivion. If I remember correctly you need tool to "invalidate" you bsa files, or something like that. From that point you can install them as you do for MW. But there are some sophisticated mod managers for TES 4. Some mods might even require them. But you are better asing in TES4 forum.

Use Wrye Bash for Oblivion. Also, use BOSS for Oblivion for proper mod load order - it's far more important than in Morrowind. And use 4GB LAA patch on your Oblivion exe files.

Also, install Unofficial Patch for Oblivion, for SI and for DLC. And install patch known as Oblivion Reloaded. That's my basic recommendation.

If you are starting out in modded Oblivion, please use the link to TESCOSI in my signature - it is a (slightly outdated) collection of best practices.

See direct link here: http://wiki.theassimilationlab.com/tescosi/Oblivion

You'll need to read for a few hours, but once you have followed the correct steps to install Oblivion, Wrye Bash, TES4LodGen, Tes4Edit and other tools, you should be good to go for a stable game.
