Ugly player character fix?

Post » Wed May 25, 2016 1:40 am

Most of the characters created in the vanilla character creation are truly ugly. Their skin looks dirty even with dirt set to the lowest setting and that horrible nose. Could someone recommend mods to fix this? Does Race Menu make more attractive features or just make it easier to set the values? Can you use it with other character creation mods? I'm not looking cover model but something with nicer skin, preferably even for the NPCs and maybe more hair-like hair texture.

RaceMenu can be used with any mods that customize characters.

For males I use Better Males. Geonox faces and flavored soul body. However this makes it NSFW. There is an underwear version of the body. Note there is a very slight neck seam with Better Males, but I haven't found a male mod without them. Lower complexion (clearer skin) makes this problem less visible.

For females, I use UNP Blessed Body. This is NSFW. I'm not sure a SFW variant of this. I also use Mature Skin Body and Texture to make the women not look as much like teenagers. Also NSFW.

For the face (both sixes), I use SKSE Better Makeup (make sure you do the tint texture resolution tweak in skse.ini). I also use Northborn Scars and XCE Warpaints.

All of this was taken from Neovalen's SR:LE guide.

Edit: Also a mod called "Brows", one called "Beards", "Superior Lore Friendly Hair", "The Eyes of Beauty".

I'm sure I'm missing a few. Google SR:LE and check the guide for more info.

Edit 2: Also, if you use UNPB for females you need the armor replacers. There are a bunch. Again, SR:LE has details on this.

Racemenu allow's for better creation options, but you need other mod's to get any specific look's you want.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58443/? for males, their is not a nvde version, I like it cause I like the more mature male look... but I also use different body meshes for different characters.

I use both at the same time, their is a bit of overlap, but that's fine.

Eye's...well I have about 6 mod's ...depends on what I want...some work well together, some don't

Yes, between Racemenu and a few mods, you can make great looking characters. Even Racemenu alone will greatly improve the looks, it does far more than just make character creation easier. I agree with the above posts on mods to improve body type, skins, eyes, etc. :) There are many good ones to choose from.

Also the skin textures can make a big difference. Here are some possibilities for females:
