I know this is kind of bad news, but Morrowind community is very sparse and lack of feedback is generally a problem. If you really want feedback, I recommend you to create a release thread here on gamesas. It is still not guaranteed, there are mods I made threads about and I still have very little feeback on, but you should get something. Unfortunatelly, if you feel uncomfortable that noone commented on your mod for two days since release I afraid that modding for MW might not be for you. I do not mean to sound harsh or anything, just saying how it is. It took months before I got at least one comment for a mod released on Nexus.
Btw. a lot of people who go to Nexus do not come here, so if you mean it only for Nexus community, you should probably post it on their forums.
Yeah, this is really the only place you get feedback anymore. Very occasionally I'll get a comment on a mod about a bug someone found, or a PM about one, but it's very rare anymore. If you want feedback and to actually interact with the modding community, this is the place. Also keep in mind that the majority of the people downloading and playing Morrowind mods are likely not modders themselves and may not even know this forum exists, they're just looking for stuff to add to their game and aren't there to be supportive or helpful to the modders. Not to say they don't care and don't appreciate what we do, I'm sure the majority of them do, they're just not in the mindset to pat us on the back.
It's also not really needed, I don't need a pat on the back to find bugs myself in my own playthroughs, or to motivate me to continue modding. I get that motivation all on my own. Yes, it's nice to get feedback and bug reports, but it's the nature of our rather small remaining active community.
I know Morrowind is very sparse, but I think it is something we as a "community" can improve on. Yes I made a release thread, which got no feedback other than my email being snipped out. Oops on my part. And I'm not really uncomfortable with it being two days with no feedback, I'm expecting some more downloads, endorsemants, feedback over time. Like you said, it takes months to get a simple comment and that is exactly the issue I wanted to address.
This post is an editied version of what I posted along with a picture on the Nexus: http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/images/2670/?and I'm going to make a something on the forum side soon, I know it's kinda weird to post this on gamesas forums but I felt like I should've as well.
It's not just my mod that I care about, you can use those links I provided to get to other budding new modders who posted in the first week of May and didn't get any feedback. The reason why I posted this was because yea, people download your mods but I think it's a bit weird to not take 5 secs to say what your basic experience was like in a simple comment ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ENDORSE IT BUT YOU DON'T SAY WHY YOU ENDORSE IT.
And you're fine, I myself use brutal honesty all the time, and I'm glad you said what you said so I could address it.
The Nexus has always been slow and sparse with feedback, for Morrowind anyways.
Don't let it discourage you.
Making this thread has already got some new eyes on your mods.
What you're talking about is someting that most people already knew that Nexus isn't a Morrowind community site and before PES became a defunct site Nexus was considered to be an Oblivion modding site, which was before Skyrim came out Nov 11th 2011.
http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=5017 was more or less abandoned by IGN in April 2012 and in late Aug 2012 PES was no more, so that's probably the main reason why Morrowind modders doesn't get much feedback when a modder release a Morrowind mod on Nexus.
After Skyrim came out the Skyrim modding community *exploded* at Nexus and thousands mods were uploaded on Nexus, while other minor community sites like http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/index.php got a very few Skyrim mods hosted.
Like the others said, posting a release thread here instead of only posting a release thread at Nexus, is your best chance to actually get feedback of your mods.
yeah ever since PES went offline, I've hardly gotten feedback for Morrowind mods anymore. That was definitely one of the most active communities of both modders and users, and there was constant back-and-forth. I had like 9 pages of comments on my PES post of Sobitur Facility, most of it just conversation about ideas, bugs, and future updates. It was a shame to lose PES for many reasons.
Have you ever taken a look at the modding life of Trainwiz? You should. The guy is probably the most famous modder of Bethesda games, easily our biggest celebrity around here, and even he has failed to draw as much attention towards Sotha Sil Expanded, a mod he's supremely proud of (and for good reason), as has been earned by certain Skyrim and Fallout 4 mods that do nothing more than add Thomas the Tank Engine (and his friends) to said games. And even though SSE easily dwarfs a good 90% of MW mods in terms of feedback and endorsemants, which I'm sure you'll find irritating, you should read some of the feedback he gets, for all his mods, not just that one, and watch some of the videos of people playing his mods.
Basically what I'm saying is this: Be careful what you wish for.
P.S.: As someone who has spent almost a year watching Mod Town 2015, which has some seriously awesome stuff going on in it, struggle to get people excited, I take exception to anyone complaining about having similar problems after just a few days.
This is pretty much how i feel too. My two mods received about four or five comments each in all the years they were on PES (and this was when the Morrowind modding scene was at the height of its activity). I'm not in the mood to be lectured to by someone who feels he hasn't gotten enough comments after only two days.
