Please add Survival Mode like Fallout 4 to Skyrim Remaster

Post » Sun Jun 19, 2016 10:46 pm

Bethesda, would you please be a dear and think about adding a Survival Mode to the Skyrim Remaster? :-)

Survival Mode in Fallout 4 was (well, still is) amazing and adds soooo much to the game. It transformed it into a whole new game. I would love to see this in Skyrim.

Honestly, I would even consider buying it as DLC.

I thought some people hated the latest version of Survival Mode for FO4? At least on the official forum they do.

Why is that?

Also is https://community.bethesda.net/community/fallout/fallout-4 the official forum now? That seems like a strange interface layout for a forum.

Well, not everyone; but I guess a lot hate it due to the fact that to save you have to sleep.

I doubt Bethesda is taking suggestions on what to add to a product due to be released in just a few months.

That's the new forums, yes and strange is about as kind of a word as I've seen used to describe them by most people. Right now it's mainly for the Fallout players as they got forced to move over there a few months ago. Quite the eyesore of a "forum" to say the least as the software behind it - Jive - seems entirely unsuited for use in an internet gaming forum. The forums for the Elder Scrolls games will move over there eventually, and many here including myself have no plans to move when they do.

The hope is that they wise up and keep these forums active or at least make some MASSIVE changes to the new forums. They've done nothing to this point to change things to any great degree, however despite extensive complaints and suggestions for improvements so it doesn't look good at this time. I don't see me wasting my time on that place if/when the move happens so it'll be time to say goodbye for me as well I suspect. Sad, as I've been here a long time but I doubt they care at this point.

As for the thread subject, as was said I don't see them adding any significant features such as a Survival mode and a lack of bug fixing I wouldn't put past them either. This remaster/rerelease or whatever you want to call it is mainly for consoles and getting modding support in place for them. It being the "laying the groundwork" stage for the return of paid modding for future Elder Scrolls and Fallout games wouldn't be all that great surprise either for that matter.

What the existing thread wasn't good enough?

I would be fine if they added it after release. Even as paid DLC would be okay for me.

If you look and explore carefully you can usually find a bed in the vicinity. And not being able to save at will adds a lot of tension which is pretty nice.

And without mods my PS4 Fallout 4 runs pretty stable, so I do not worry too much about crashes.

I had to laugh out very loud......I just clicked on the link.......and noticed the new "Forum Rules" They are pretty strange too!

One of them bans references to "Extreme Violence"

If for the love of all thats holy......Fall Out 4 and for that matter Skyrim are not the epitome of extreme violence.....then what is?

How much more violent can it get than the cut scene beheadings or the ingame decapitations or burning people alive in gouts of flame?

Not to mention Fallout 4, where you have slo--mo cut scenes of heads exploding, complete with eyeballs flying away and everything.

Actually, Beth has stated it was something they always wanted to do.

I think it was always planned but due to time constraints they had to wait. The original Survival mode was for the most part just Very Hard with slower healing and a greater chance for Legendary NPC to spawn.
