Hello people. I just started playing Skyrim again but I am having problems with armour ratings.

E.G, The steel plate chestpiece that im using has 92 armour rating whereas my dawnguard heavy armour chestpiece only has 88.

I am using mods so I thought that could be affecting it somehow, but I found nothing about it online.

If anyone could help i'd be very grateful.

Those have base ratings of 40 and 34 respectively, so I see a possible problem if they've moved closer together, but are those numbers being affected by matching perks, as well as just the Juggernaut one?

The perks I have would apply to both of them so I don't think that's it.

I have 3 points in Juggernaut, and then 1 point in Well Fitted.

Also I made a mistake in my first post: The heavy dawnguard chestpiece has 82 armour rating.

All the benefits you get from perks and skill add percentages of the base defense, so starting from 40 versus 34, they'd get further apart as you improve. 92/82 is not unreasonable.
