Calling global variable in objective

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2016 9:11 pm

Whenever I try calling a global variable I made in my quest objective text:

Find a health potion (/1)

it displays:

Find a health potion ([...]/1)

in game instead of the value of the global variable.

I have of course created the variable in the CK, and assigned values to it, why is this happening?

Any help is appreciated.

Well, [...] means the result is not 'filled' with anything, so looking at the Wiki with that thought in mind, have you added the Global to the Quest Data Tab? If so, maybe try deleting it from there, and re-adding it--once or twice I've found that the CK hasn't 'saved' info properly (probably just a random computer glitch), and re-adding seems to work.

Did you add the global to the list on the first tab of the quest form? That's needed to connect the quest to the global.

Edit: ninja'd, or great minds ...

No, I have not added the global to the quest. I did not find any tutorials or articles on how to do this, so I had to look at what Bethesda did in the CK, so I overlooked that detail.

Thank you very much for the help.

Also you need to stop and restart the quest if the quest has already started in your game before you added this global.
