It is not confirmed news but some reviewers from the trailer calculated the image resolution and that sort of thing to determine the resolution and target frame rate. digital foundry did it i think i don't know what tools or software they use to determine this but they have been doing this thing for many games and they were accurate on all of the occasions. PS4 runs on 1080p 30fps and xbox runs on their dynamic resolution thing to keep 30fps in check. you can go to their youtube channel for more info or you can google those articles on internet.
Currently, the performance looks pretty underwhelming tbh.
This is Bethesda we're talking about, the load times will inevitably be atrocious.
And keep a save file from just before or after the executioner at Helgen at the start of the game. You'll need that save to load any bloated save files. Trust me, it helped a lot in Skyrim last gen.
I can't control it so I'm not going to worry about it.
:Edited because I am the king of typos. *sigh*
I'd say you are correct. People should keep in mind that while the current console generation performs much better than previous one, it's not particulary powerful in general. Furthermore, the SSE has much improved graphics, lighting, shaders, etc. which will come with a performance cost. Overall even the 30 fps is not going to be guaranteed.
It'll use the same engine as Fallout 4 (64-bit) and from what I've seen will have roughly the same system requirements, so expect performance roughly to be the same
So, we should be seeing a lot of patches then?
I mean, Fallout 4 runs better than any other previous Bethesda game on consoles, but that's still pretty... >_>
Warframe, which is free, runs butter smooth by comparison.
fallout 4 quality wise looks much better than skyrim remaster and its texture details, resolution and overall effects are much higher than what we saw in trailer of skyrim remaster, remaster is probably using HD texture pack dlc which we got back in 2012 as base textures and they aren't demanding, so no i don't think remaster will be that power hungry. game has lots of bloom and yellow tint to it just like the original game had grey tint to it. i expect lower system requirements than fallout 4.
Here's what I want, performance-wise:
240 fps vsynced, while standing outside Dragonsreach and looking at Riften's stablemaster, changing shoes on my horse. That, or there will be hell!
What are you looking at? I too have my moments
I guess that it will be slightly less demanding than Fallout 4. Even though SSE runs on the same engine, the general texture size is much smaller (assuming they are the same size as the HD DLC), and features like PBR have not been implemented as far as I know.
1080p shouldn't really be a problem, at least not for the PS4. Still, I'm convinced that it won't run at 60 fps on consoles. The original game could barely hold 30 fps on my XBOX 360, it even dipped into the low 20s sometimes, and even a new layer of paint can't change some of the optimization issues Skyrim had. But that's just speculation. We will have to see what Bethesda come up with. I wouldn't expect too much in that regard, though.
Unless I'm remembering incorrectly. Todd Howard said that the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition at least the PC version will have higher textures resolution than the high textures resolution we got back in 2012.
Here are some more details about the game.

It seems it will be 1080p/30fps on consoles.

yes he did said but the trailer had pretty low resolution textures i think they were not even HD textures look how blurry and low resolution they are.
I'm hoping this can be toggled off. Personally I like static DOF (where the extreme far distance is a bit blurred) but I dislike dynamic DOF (which usually tends to alter blurriness in the middle ground as we move the camera an inch to the left or right). The good news is that, if there is no toggle, we will all have mods that can remove the effect.
From what I saw in the trailer it looked like they were running a modded game the orange sky looks suspiciously like Vivid Weathers or even SKGE, and I'm fairly sure I'm using those mushroom textures myself from a mod I can't even remember the name of.
So at a guess, and it is only a guess, I'd say the game as released will be close to vanillla + extra shaders and you'll have to add the rest yourself...
some of the screens from trailer looks close https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/110/images/50753-4-1391538201.jpg Lots of Bloom and lots of colour tint.
The video with the orange sunset was just taken at a different time of day with the sun setting. And with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition being DirectX 11 it will look better than the DirectX 9 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
It's why it was so orange and the volumetric god rays helped it.
Well if it is a mod then you just use a different mod... I love Vivid Weathers for the most part except for its orange sunsets. And the pink clouds on the mountains which are just... odd. Luckily I know how to mod a mod and currently I'm using a mashup of two separate weather mods (no orange sunsets for me)
